We aren’t in the same financial position as Leeds unfortunately.. they only had to sell 2 of their best players and built around the others .. we will lose 4 or 5 of our best players and have to start a rebuild again

Let me tell you a little about ‘humility’ Humility is understanding that teams like Sunderland and the Blades are very much the same. We grind out our living in the 2nd tier of English football and, like you have today, enjoy the occasional sojourn to the Premiership to see how the other half lives. Then we realise the gulf in class is huge and actually enjoy going back down again so we can win a few games and enjoy proper football. Humility is knowing where you sit in the grand scheme of things and enjoying your successes with good grace and a recognition that inevitably what goes around comes around. Humility is not about taunting other teams around you, it isn’t about telling them what they ‘deserve’. It’s about saying ‘thanks for the game’ or saying nothing at all. There were some Mackem pricks at the tube station today after the game giving it large and chanting ‘staying down ‘ at the Blades fans. So you are just like them. Bizarre that you want to spend your time taunting others rather than simply enjoying your moment in the sun

So from a Blades fan who does understand about humility because we Blades have all experienced probably more downs than ups can I just say congrats to Sunderland who are a great team with a great set of fans. I hope you do well in the Prem and shake up the established order.
