The dead pigeon is under the untidy grass cuttings.

Alongside the Star's risible claim to neutrality between the city (which is, of course, ours) football clubs.

Ok, I'll correct you. I've not said anything about bias in today's coverage. I merely pointed out that the Star's track record is this area is less than stellar and I hoped they'd do better this time. If they have, good for them, nice to see things have changed for the better.

And what I've said about those editions is true. Check if you don't believe me. I'm sure you have the copies in the offices.

At least fifty years of bias, still alive and well. Editorial policy for sure, but they haven't the balls to admit it. That would be the honourable thing to do.

On this occasion, however, the real tossers are Radio Pig, whose post-match coverage had but one focus - why did the Trotters lose? Everything was approached from that angle. They'll do it again, tonight. Bookmark me.

Wow!

Danny04 that is praise indeed and you are now officially a very junior member of the 'Pinchy deity society '. You should tug your forelock (but not of course doff your cap).

Indeed. Danny's an "okay guy" in the new-fangled parlance. He does, however, tow the party line on bias, which is a shame. It's manifest and has been for a very long time.

He's also loyal to a fault in relation to numpties like Smith and Biggs, which is understandable. Very few of us would publicly rubbish a colleague.

Thats fine with me. They can continue to make out that the only reason we won was due to Wednesdays misgivings, mistakes, and poor performance. As if had they turned up we'd have been battered.

Yes Wednesday were very poor and devoid of any real detailed attacking plan, but at the same time, we made them look poor. Wilder's decision to play on the counter attack, flood midfield, the attacking movements in the final third to continually get in behind, the quick combo's to get in behind. The way we defended the box from their constant deep crosses and long diagonals. Add to that, Wilder then switches system mid way through the 2nd half to take the game back. If Mourinho had done this he would be lauded a genius.

Let everyone bang on about Wednesday. Meanwhile, we'll just continue to win games because idiots underestimate us. We'll just keep being Wilders hard working, well organized outfit, and probably go on to get another promotion!

Good points but, had the Pigs won, the obsequious hacks would be all over them like a rash. A particularly nasty, unsightly rash, let it be said. The emphasis would be entirely different. They've bought into the Pigs "massive" delusion completely and it pervades everything they do. Amateurs, the lot of them.

With you all the way but it's "toe the line" how are journalists going to learn anything ?

Smiths a freelancer, so is he actually a colleague or just a parasite taking money out of Danny, Darren Berks and the email hacks pockets? Lecturer in Smugness at Hallam Uni as well I believe. (May not be smugness, but it's a relevant word)

In my O.P. I praise a lot of the Star's content but that column was ridiculous and worthy of ridicule.

Are you seriously ok with our local sports paper headlining a column focusing on whether the real winner of the derby is the city of Sheffield or those causing trouble?

An article that talks of fans causing trouble but only focusses on United fans?

An article that actively tries to take the piss out of our celebrations with a known disparaging line 'you'd have thought they'd won the Champions league'.

It's undoubtedly an opinion piece that looks at the derby and focusses on the bad, the ridiculous but nothing about our wonderful performance or how much it meant to the United fans.

You obviously seem to think that makes me a 'snowflake' - fair enough - I'm just sticking up for my football team and criticising a crap piece by a writer with history with these sort of things.

As far as I can tell it was a general column, not a sport one, and went on to talk about something else entirely.
We do have some fans who aren't covering the club in glory this season and are causing more issues that the other lot.
It's the bizarre conspiracy theory stuff and desperately wanting to be victims of the media that's weird for me.
