Big 3 points that. Well done Blades. Take care getting home from the game those of you in Reading.

Good result but should have been so much more comfortable, Reading are absolutely awful and Stam will be gone by the weekend.

Wilder better not bloody drop Duffy for Fulham to be more 'solid' in midfield.

Also Donaldson was awful when he came on, stood still for most of the 2nd half.

Donaldson did not stand still.

We may be 3-1 up but we have had 7 or 8 guilt edged chances for those 3 goals. Against better teams we would have been punished.

I will be delighted with 3 points but that doesn’t stop feeling a little frustrated.

There's a reason that Reading look bad tonight. It's the same reason Oppo fans were saying 'we had a bad day at the office, Sheff U aren't all that' in the first third of the season. United played VERY well tonight and caused Reading to play badly. That's the best I've seen United play for weeks ,maybe months.

Well done Blades but Reading where total S**t, still lots not to like about United tonight, Should have won that by 6 but 3 points and back into the top 6... maybe i’m never satisfied!

Lawrence.....that’s nevva satisfied thee!

Wasn't at his best tonight but he did put himself about. Should/could have scored as well.
Maybe I was harsh saying he didn't run, but he looks a shadow of the player we saw in his first several appearances.

If Brooks is fit I'd play him off Sharp at Fulham.

Meh. Better performance but not outstanding. Reading were absolutely dreadful off the ball. Obviously the conditions didn't exactly favour pretty football. Some poor decisions and I still want to see us kill teams off when we're on top because that game could have been well and truly over by thirty minutes, instead we've had a nervy few minutes and a big let off with that penalty miss.

Hull could have been the same as tonight so everything what was thrown at the players was justified by their own performance tonight. Players like Sharp, Bash, Fleck, JOC and Duffy stood up to be counted today and I'm sure Wilder will have especially let these players know his thoughts after Hull. Those players are the backbone of this team and have shared last seasons experience together. Tonight they brought it back.

I think we played okay. Probably the best we have been for 3 or 4 games.

I don't think that Reading's performance was forced upon them by us. I think they were utter garbage all by themselves.

I reckon tonight's game would have suited Brooks. Fulham could be suited to Brooks or Donno if we look to sit in and play on the counter.

Thought we were excellent tonight, exactly the response required. We pressed from the front right from the off (Clarke, Sharp and Duffy pivotal to that high pressing), and we created numerous excellent opportunities. Fleck ran the show all evening. Duffy’s finish was a sight to behold, and worth braving the conditions for. Moore’s save killed their momentum like a bounce-killing Duffy goal. I also thought Sharp was superb, even without the well-taken goals – a constant menace for their defence (and their fans), and his link-up play all game was top drawer.

Only downside, the injuries. Hope none of them are out for too long, as all 3 should be straight back in.

Great performance from Sharpy and Simon Moore certainly cemented his position tonight. Enjoyed Billy’s celebration in front of us

Don't agree. Moore was poor for their goal and will be 2nd choice when Blackman is fit.
Nope disagree Moore did well to stop it and our defenders were slow to react. Plus of course that tremendous pen save...position cemented as he now has the gloves and it’s up to Blackman to be patient

It was good performance that was much needed because lose today & i wouldve gone straight home & avoid bollicking. 1st 20 mins there was still quite a few errors & reading certainly made us look better than we were. By handing chances on a plate that we shouldve taken & we very nearly let them back into it, with that shocking challenge to give the penalty. which wouldve been footballing suicide because even reading realised they deserved nothing. unfortunately with burton on saturday we won't get a true read on our level til fulham next tuesday.

The injuries arent the worst Leon is Blessing in disguise as he could do with a break & we are lucky that we have no difference between Blackman or Moore & for me no one is undroppable, but duffy is close. I still stand by it he is player of the year for me. In the infamous words of Andy gray "what a hit son. what a hit"

I remember we had a quite a few big PL promotion /PL survival 6 pointers over the years. I knew they had problems but not to that scale. keith Probally never seen a side with such little desire & heart. Just How did they go in 6months from pen kick from PL to scrapping to stay in championship

Disagree doubt if Blackman would of got to the pen. Moore first choice now
I was going to disagree, but then I noticed your earlier post which says you were at the match. I think as a reward for all Blades who made it to Reading last night, we should allow you to be free from getting slagged off by the rest of us. Offer does not apply to those who live down there. And lasts only till the Burton game - after that gloves are off again! Well done to all of those who got there (and back). That includes the team!
