Bit harsh with duffy there mate, previous 3 seasons he were probably wilders masterstroke, spot on with others though. Think our problem is that we can't find 'another mark duffy' kind of player. Way we play it is a tricky one to sort out

Not questioning Duffy's ability/impact - more Tufty"s ability to 'manage' him... After all, this is why he's warming the bench at Stoke rather than here....

I'm not a fan of players using social media, nor am I a fan of people who don't say what they mean. I have not got the time or inclination to unravel tweets written in some kind of code only known to the writer. If you have something to say say it, say what you mean or fuck off. I think we all know where this guy is heading he will be lucky if he lasts the season out with us.
You're not really a fan of anything though are you ?

Then he should knuckle down and conduct himself better on social media and stop making himself look a spoilt brat with an attitude problem.

Not sure how he’s done that ? Not seen him do anything of the sort

If anything he looks very settled on the united media videos they put out and with the other players ?

Don’t judge a player till they’ve been given a chance

How many chances has he had a grand total of 0
He’s being judged on (seemingly) spitting his dummy out because he’s not in the team.

He’s been given a chance that the evidence suggests he doesn’t deserve - in signing for a premier league club.

He needs to earn his place and keep quiet on social media.

I genuinely think Ravel would be better off starting his own football charity for training kids from troubled families, or to be honest just pack in football altogether and find something which makes him happy.

Seems that he could do with something fulfilling in his life, something which would enable him to find true happiness. I don't think his personality is cut out for professional football, he has amazing talent but does not seem to have that resilience or mental strength required to get himself off the bench and into the team.

I'm sure he has built resilience in other areas of his life, especially with a childhood like he reportedly has had, but that does not appear to extend to his footballing life.

He might be alright for a team like Salford. It's his local club, the fans & owners know him very well & he'd probably be given the responsibility of being their main man.

If you free Ravel & let him go out & just play his own game, I have no doubts he could be a bit of a weapon. But we can't afford that luxury at this level. We need work ethic. We need our midfielders to be disciplined without the ball. He struggles with this.

K Freeman has always done my head in a little bit. He's never seemed to have a great attitude & is always drawn to other players with bad attitudes (I'm thinking back to the Adkins era). He could be a great footballer but rarely looks fit, or determined. He should know better than anyone that, when frozen out, you just need to work hard & impress the manager & force the question. He isn't doing it.

To be honest, I'd ship both these lads out at the first opportunity. We need upgrades in their positions & less of their public chatter on social media. It's not helpful.

he might just be sharing a joke between friends

I might be naïve but if it's a joke between friends, make it private and keep it between friends and not a public post on social media. There's way to post on social media which can only been seen by certain people. But, maybe that's too technical for some people. Or, he wanted other's to see it but can play it off as a joke between mates.

Both the man and the footballer are the result of nature and nurture. For me, CWAK and other staff at the Lane will decide if the footballer has a role to play for the Blades. Lets try not to make any negative assumptions and be kind in our judgement of the man. I hope he gets the help needed to lead a contented and fulfilled life.

I am wary of making too many judgements on the way players are integrated into a new environment, particularly ones with complex issues as Morrison seems to have. We simply do not see the day to day interaction he has with the players & coaching staff, how what he puts into training compares with what he is being asked to do, & a whole host of other things that will influence how CWAK judge he is progressing. I think it is a lot more complex that getting him fit & watching him go, he will not have trained at anywhere near the intensity he is now for quite some time & it is nailed on he will have had a few niggling little injuries that stop him going flat out, & that is before you even start to factor in the mental side to his personality as well his game. I honestly think it will be a while yet if ever that he starts to show he has really grasped the opportunity he has, but it is a relatively risk free exercise & if he emerges from it anywhere close to his best he will be a fantastic addition to our squad.

you could mend the world with an attitude like that young man.

The most worrying part for me is the fact he’s including Keiron freeman in his frustration at not being picked (over a midfield 3 that has largely over performed this season). Freeman is a veteran of this squad. Probably the most long serving player in the squad apart from maybe Basham or sharp (maybe not, cba to check) but if he wants to cause splinters and cliques within the squad due to his frustrations, having contributing very little to nothing, that’s dangerous if he’s trying to form some sort of cabal against the system. We need to be united, a band of brothers going into every game, a squad, a family. That’s what we’ve been built on. That’s what we’ve been successful doing. That’s what we need given the ‘underdog’ tag we’re going to be branded with this year.

You didn't see lundstram going on Instagram taking a pop at the fans after getting stick when he came in for coutts 2 years ago. Or the manager for being ‘frozen out’ after we brought Norwood in. You saw him dig DEEP and look at himself in the mirror to improve. That’s why we signed him. Because of his character. That’s why we sign all of our players with a 15 point checklist, for these reasons. Morrison seems to stick out like a sore thumb in terms of our signings because he doesn’t conform to any of these attributes and he is already causing friction within the fan base and probably squad due to these qualities.

For the record, I’m not hanging him out to dry and I hope he gets all the help he needs in overcoming any demons he has but we as a club cannot afford any passengers on our quest under wilder, it contradicts and undermines everything we’re about. I’d release him tomorrow if I was wilder.

This is a revolution, it’s not fifa. He might be our highest rated player on a computer game but he is by a million miles our weakest link in the squad and could jeopardise everything. I fully expect wilder to act swiftly in this situation.

You have come to that conclusion after a tweet?
If he was and is a bad apple the players would root him out , the band of brothers as they are now called manage themselves so he would get the treatment he deserved,if it was deserved !.
Failing that Wilder would call him out .so I wouldn't worry about him spoiling team moral it is far stronger than one man could destroy.

He only said it a couple of days ago, and I think it’s coming, yes. I think he will get called out, and I am just airing my fears/suspicions/worries.

Ravel Morrison should take a walk around Sheffield Children’s Hospital or a Veterans Hospital. Wasted talent really boils my piss. I get it with mental illness but I’m coming to the conclusion he’s a self centered , stupid, egotistical twat.

It’s obvious the lad isn’t all right upstairs unfortunately. Going on social media posting weird cryptic (but not really cryptic) tweets and messages is similar to a teenage lass trying to seek attention off a lad they like. It’s all very weird and petty. Get your head down Rav and stop bleating.

If him and freeman are trying to cause problems then Wilder won’t stand for it and I doubt the team would either. It will be either a case of get yourself together or off you go. The team are about to establish themselves as premier league players, do you really think 2 fringe players who have got the face on will let them stop that?

The problem for Ravel is that people seem to write him off before he's got started.
  • His new club are talked of as his last chance.
  • He gets given the pressure, "he better take the chance".
  • People read into and microanalyse any hint of behaviour, looking for any signs of failing to take that chance.

It all becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It's about managing expectations, also starting with Ravel himself. If he comes in as exuberant as anything that he's finally returning to the top flight of English football, every continued effort is needed to temper his expectations. If he gets his hopes up, and then those hopes are dashed cos he hasn't earned his way into the squad yet, that's when we could see him acting all disaffected and like he can't be arsed.

I think we have a club sports psychologist, and he ought to be working with him, to help him realise that as frustrated as he is, his premier league chance is closer now than it has been for years, even if he is understandably frustrated right now.
