For what its worth my opinion is he did more than ok last night but i think he has a problem due to using contact lenses, he appears to be slightly wrong with the ball positioning when its coming down and hes looking up at a certain angle, i would recommend laser eye surgery if possible, pilots have it to achieve 20/20 vision. But well done lad
Now you are getting close to the problem.

I dont think it is that but this.

When he is just about to catch the ball he takes his eye off it assuming it will go into his gloves. That momentary lapse causes him to fail to catch it cleanly.

He is pretty hopeless in a cluster and needs to learn how to toughen up and probably to punch much better. The object of punching is to help the ball on its trajectory not stop it and send it back to where it came from. So if it is coming from his left you punch the ball to the right and vice versa. On Weds night his problem was a dropping ball. He just should have caught it end of.

A preseason with Egans Gaelic football buddies would do him the world of good.

Didn't put a foot wrong today. Some great saves in there and he deserved a clean sheet for that performance.

Just a shame his defence laid down the red carpet for Citehs goal. So fucking frustrating. We were well in that game otherwise.
Really, like dive to his right for their goal "Oh here's an open goal created by Amps, Bogle Bash and me." Nah 7/10 for me today.

His fault for the goal according to the vip mob

No idea who the vip mob are and you can point the finger at Bash, Bogle and Ampadu as well. However, Rammers makes the wrong decision, he makes himself big but makes no attempt to close the shot down, he has to get as close to the ball as possible. He needed to be brave and he wasn’t.

He played much better today, but he has to take some responsibility for the goal.

Is asking him to kick it at least somewhere near our strikers too much to ask for?
One step at a time.under so much pressure from man city strikers would be a good comment if he was only one not passing accurately.some will find fault no matter what. Particuley against crtain team members .but hey we are all entitled to our comments so give you a like because i agree.but lets pick on other players and not just pick on one

Surely if his distribution is better, we have a better chance of winning/retaining possession further up the pitch, which in turn gives us a better chance of getting something out of the game?

If you repeatedly kick the ball to their defenders/keeper in acres of space they will just keep possession easily making it harder for us to get anything out of the game.
Isn't any goal kick that's in the air for 3-5 secs going to be 50-50 anyway? That's why the better teams play out from the back.

Word of advice. When you are in a hole, stop digging!

Always been a good shotstopper it’s the other major attributes that are lacking, what I will say though, he’s got a better kick than Hendo
Agreed. With Henderson 80% time it went out for a throw in.

He was trying to anticipate the shot I guess. No doubt folk would have roasted him had he not reacted and the ball just trickled in straight from the cross. In now way was he at fault for that goal. 100% down to shitty defending.

He also stopped them making it 2 or 3 nil.

He;s trying to anticipate the shot.

Let's be honest, Jesus made a right fucking dogs dinner of it and because of that (and the fact no defender was within 5 yards), he was able to put it into an empty net.

It wasn't skill that's for sure.

FFS another post that I'm too late with :p

Oh yeah. Agreed. Really good save at the end. But the basics are pretty poor for an £18m England U-21 goalie. Hodgy better at his age.

Here is a novel idea hear me out.

How about getting behind our young England u 21 goalkeeper who has had a sound game today.

Has he been faultless this season ? Of course he hasn’t but the only comments on here today should be saying what a good game he’s had

These last two games will have done him the world of good but never mind you keep being critical of him

He's getting better and looking more confident, the defence also seem to be connecting with him now. Keep going Rammers.
Spot-on. He will improve more if the general defending improves. And the defence will improve further if they get greater confidence in him.

Their striker opens up his body too much and makes it easy to read, then sidefoots it at a decent height. If Ramsdale let that in you'd be very disappointed. He stood up and read it well, you know, like a decent keeper should.
But plenty of us are deeply concerned that perhaps he isn’t a decent keeper, so I'll take that.

Given his recent performances, today was very good going, and most importantly will build his confidence.

Whatever anyone thinks of him, it’s clear his confidence must be rock bottom and affecting his game.

Just watched the highlights. It was a fantastic save. Frankly, you are talking shit.
I agree with you mate ,some on here for some reason will have a go at him no matter how he plays. You can be really proud Rammers with your performances this week mate .Getting better all the time even with all the negativity aimed at you mate .WELL DONE LAD.

He made some really good saves today, however I partially agree about his kicking being awful. I just wish our players wouldn't keep passing back to him as their default ploy. He either punts it aimlessly to an area of the pitch where none of our players are or slices it out of play, either way, it gifts the opposition the ball and when you're playing City, you don't really want to be giving them the ball back so cheaply because you won't see it again for another ten minutes.

Despite his 5 clean sheets last season, he did let in 65 goals, Deano let in 39, just what did we expect of him, in front of our superior defence, about 50, problem is our defence hasn’t been superior so far this season.

Now we’re getting back to our best, lets see his confidence grow, this is his chance to show us why CW paid 18m, if he doesn’t we’ll just have to admit Bournemouth had us up the arse, and live with it, because there’s no more money and CW won’t play anyone else.

In each of his last 5 games he’s shown improvement, so he’s on the right track.

Easily best performance of the season by Rammers so far. Kept us in it till the end. (almost even saved their un-saveable goal)

Been a bit critic of his like most so far, but hopefully that was the confidence booster he needed and can kick on from here.

If you are reading this Rambo, good work lad. Did us proud!

See posts 161 and 162 because I can’t be arsed

Confidence that’s what it is about - the punches today were the correct decision and the goal was bad luck (a yard either side and it was ok). The reaction to the first save was good but why was amoadu stood behind the line for the second element of the save ? Don’t get me wrong I am a big critic but the last three games you can see improvement (just like Fleck)
