Ramsdale

He usually (not tonight) makes saves you'd expect any keeper to make. He doesn't pull off any 'excellent' saves. Those go in. He's just not a PL keeper right now.

Need to swallow a bit of pride now and give him a breather.

Yep. A keeper who played a part in a stoke city team flirting with relegation last season... In the championship.

yes, Stoke were abysmal - doesn't alter the fact that Howe wanted a.n.other as 1st team goal keeper. Howe messed it up for Bournemouth with leaving it too late - but it doesn't alter the fact that Ramsdale was very very average last season and he's replicating the same form this season for us.

Please note: it's all about the team for me - nothing personal with any player - but Ramsdale has been questioned since the FIRST goal we concede in the FIRST game v Wolves and he has been questioned in many games this season.

Agreed there bud. I did actually call for butland last season, to be honest, ramsdale in last season's squad would be a different calibre in my opinion. Hendo in this team would struggle just as rammers is.

Yet the Bournemouth fans voted him player of the season . Strange when relegation was his fault .

That's what you get with relegation - the most BUSY player is the one making 10 saves in a game yet still picking the ball out of the net 3 or 4 times.

Who said relegation was HIS fault by the way?

Henderson was no better than Ramsdale tonight and Ramsdale would be fine with a solid defence like we had at the start of last season . The problem is not just Ramsdale but he will get the blame as it always his or Mcburnies fault
I'm happy to praise Mcburnie tonight. We looked much more likely without him in the side.

Perhaps CW should do to Ramsdale what he did to Hendo last season when he dropped a bollock. A bit of tough love. But then again CW knows the lad much better than I do so I’ll leave it to him to sort it out.

(Maybe he could have another word with Hendo after his performance tonight too).

yes agreed - we are a shadow of last seasons team.

Personally I reckon the March lockdown has given Prem teams plenty of time to sit down and analysis all the opposition and they have certainly worked out how to turn us over.

To be fair, football teams need to be progressive, always changing and tweaking bits and pieces to remain tricky and a bit of a wildcard.. wilders done the same thing this season and it shows. It's no wonder we've been worked out when it's the same mindless gash over and over.

Oh , I get it now . The supporters at Bournemouth who watched him every week just didn't understand what they were seeing! My mistake

Could be playin like Brazil and be winning 6-0 but with him in net I'd still be seeing him let 7 in.

Once the fans are back we'll see his confidence change; a few rounds of 'Ramsdale is dire, our defence is terrified' will give him the lift he needs.

Sorry, disagree - there are plenty of our fans who would give Ramsdale the Gillingham George long treatment.

Fans on the kop are the last thing Ramsdale needs.

Give over ! Third was his fault second was not his fault , Martial sort of miskicked his goal and it fell kindly for him ! If he had connected properly then Ramsdale would have saved it !
Not forgetting if Stevens had have not dropped 5 yds behind the other defenders, Martial is offside.

I feel for Rammers, big Blade connection, big fee, feeling the pressure.

But right now he needs dropping, time to see Verrips in action. Would be a brave move move from a not very brave manager so I doubt it will happen.

Ramsdale is a good asset. If we keep playing him whilst his heads gone we could destroy it.

At the moment he needs to earn his shirt. Unfortunately he doesn’t deserve to be there. Give him a week off or he’s finished.

Our defence was solid because we had a confident keeper last season. This season that belief just isnt there, even though our workrate is greater.

The high line was ridiculous. Our defence just aren’t fast enough to deal with a ball over the top. Jags is just too slow to deal with that. Good of Wilder to admit he got it wrong.

Lets try Verrips or Fotheringham.

We all want Ramsdale to do well but he clearly isn’t up to it at the moment. His basic techniques for diving, catching etc just don’t look right and he makes far too many mistakes. Unfortunately the other keeper we bought, Foderingham, looks even shakier.

Some of Wilder’s signings have really put us in the sh!t.

For basically all of Ramsdale's short career, he's been used to shipping goals. He's made 50 top flight appearances and kept a measly 5 clean sheets which is dreadful.

Yes he's played behind some crap defences but his job is to bark the orders and marshall where they're going. Does he have any sort of understanding or ability to read the game?

Well done - excellent contribution which consists of sarcasm and wrong statements.

brilliant - keep it up

UTB
Oooh, bit precious . You stated Bournemouth would have stayed up if butland had been in goal. I would say that's pure speculation but if you know then you know

Still think Ramsdale will come good, but his confidence is shot. We need a change. Not many were disagreeing with his signing. My only concern at the time was the size of the fee.

I'd put Foderingham i goal at Brighton

Really, really poor tonight.

Second and third goals he has to do so much better.

Even outside of this he didn't fill me with confidence, flapping at things.

Would he even be a good keeper at Championship level?

Get your facts right before posting shit, or dont post you fking dick!! Fed up of you keyboard fkin heroes who amount to fk all. Goals conceded 65! 3 by Travers which makes errrrrrrrr 62?

Please read your nonsensical post! You can only shout and marshall for so long, if the players take no notice, no amount of marshalling and shouting makes any difference.

decent question - it's looking like we might find out next season.................unless we give Brighton a seeing to.

I don't know what possessed Wilder to sign Foderingham who was second choice at Rangers for the last 2 seasons before he came here and was in League One before that which is arguably of a similar standard to the bottom end of the Scottish Premier. Surely there must have been SOMEONE else available with some kind of demonstrable ability that they could hack it at the highest level of called upon, even a bloke from Scotland who was first choice up there would have been a better option, at least they'd have had some games under their belt.

That's only if the bloke telling them where to go has a clue to start with! We don't know for sure whether they're ignoring him or he doesn't know what he's doing but 4 of the 5 at the back defended very well last year.

His clean sheet record is there for all to see, how much of it is his fault is open to interpretation but it's not exactly a shower of glory. Henderson had a shit game too but he's won more England caps than Aaron Ramsdale ever will
