It's more or less the sausage rohl show, every night this week hes been dissecting the Wendy's loss at Millwall, and trying to assure the S6 mob that Danny will sort it!.... with a bit of Barry Bunnion talk as well. Other clubs caller seem to get wafted away pretty quickly. He seems to know his stuff, but comes across as an arrogant twat!!
He comes across as arrogant because he generally puts forward a strong argument using facts and logic.
Although he does have an ego and doesn't appear to like being challenged/ disagreed with.....so he can become a little abrasive.
Unless you're at a good level of communication and intelligence then it might make a caller feel intimidated.
I prefer it this way......because when callers talk shit......he actually challenges them to justify their comments.
This week the general theme has been the fagility of support and the speed that supposed fans, like to criticise.
He directed his complaint against the Rotherham fans for their big expectation regards being promoted this season.
So when they win....it's classed as normal with little praise but when they lose....then some callers severely criticise the manager and their owner.
His other complaint was directed as Wednesday fans for criticising Barry Bannon.
FWIW over the years he tends to criticise SWFC, Chansiri and Wednesday fans whilst he tends to be more complementary about United.
Hence why on Owlstalk they don't like Radio Sheffield because they generally bash their club....
they call it Radio Sheffield United.
Andy Giddings (Halifax fan) always seems to be more pro United compared to Wednesday, he complements SUFC and has subtle digs at SWFC.
Statons point is that Bannon is a modern day legend at the club but is getting older and has strengths and weaknesses.
When SWFC win....all Owls rate BB as one the best and rave about his strengths
but a week later after a defeat then some fans are so quick to say BB is past it and the weak link in their side.
They say he's the reason for the defeat when the week earlier apparently he was the reason for the win.
Staton was making an excellent point about how fickle and impatient football fans have become.
When there's little football action......there's less callers....so Staton and Co are coming up with points to try to encourage callers.
