Brilliant, very happy with speed personally. I really hope the fans give the guy a real chance and dont start slagging him off the minute we lose to middlesbrough. No suprise here, but happy. At least he has a FOOTBALLING history and knows the players. I think he was really the only choice at this point in proceedures. Maybe the pre season wasnt wasted afterall.

Other than O'Driscoll, Speed would have been my choice so no problems for me. I don't take this 'he was part of the problem' stuff, he will be his own man now and can impose his own training methods, get his own systems and get the players playing the way he (and hopefully they) want.

Well respected in the game and by the players by all accounts, media friendly and one of those players who you guess would make a decent manager so let's get behind him and give him a chance.
