heard earlier that former match of the day presenter Jimmy Hill has died at 87 R.I.P Jimmy

RIP Jimmy watched you for years, great front man for football.

Another ex player to suffer the bastard disease that is Alzheimer's.

RIP Jimmy Hill, a TV presenter from the days when they were allowed to voice their views and were not just ex players energetically agreeing with each other as we get now.

He'll not be missed by everyone, I know of one ex Sheffield United player who held him in very low esteem.
Apparently when the first American soccer venture went tits-up, Jimmy left quite a few players without one to pee in.. Whilst he skipped the gutter back to Blighty..

Did so much for the game and players rights with a minimum wage. Today's tarts on a million a month should be ashamed. RIP the chin.

I thought he was a bit of a twat - most of the things he pushed for are things that have buggered football up, with the possible exception of 3 points for a win. Anyway what's this got to do with Blades?
Yes the bloke that introduced greed into players wages by scrapping the maximum wage, and the first to introduce all seater grounds. He changed football but not always for the better I thought he was a bit of a twat too and certainly this has feck all place in Blades chat.

show some respect man.

Just been watching some footage of him in his playing days. Slicked back hair and beard, a sort of proto-Brayford.

Nice way to speak about someone who has just died. Classy.

Didn't Jimmy Hill predict United to win the title at the start of the 75/76 season, just prior to us breaking all our club records for the wrong reasons!

Think he tended to divide opinion when he was in the broadcasting chair but compared to nicey-nicey modern day pundits Jimmy Hill would now be a breath of fresh air. Always remember when he blamed a ball-boy for Blackburn missing out on knocking Liverpool out of the cup in the late 80s/early 90s, when he returned the ball far too quickly at a throw-in for Jimmy's liking.

RIP Jimmy
