Just thought, and I can't think of anyone off the top of my head. however, apart from Che Adams and K Wallace, is the last signing we made from a lower English division side than us... Jamie Ward?

Might not count given he was out of contract but we did have to pay Tranmere some cash for James Wallace after their relegation to League 2. Had Crewe been relegated when Miller joined us? Similarly didn't we pick up Andy Taylor from League 1?

At a guess I would agree that after Adams/KWallace, Ward is the previous one we paid a transfer fee for from a lower English league.

Unfortunately manager after manager come in and make the same mistakes, signing journeymen players on their way down. Sammon, Woolford, Hammond in particular. Sharp gets a pass and Edgar I will hold that thought for now.

This is the trend that has to stop.
