Most away fans swear by the Sheffield Tap in the train station. Good range of beers and you'll be in a majority whereas it'll probably be predominantly home fans in the others.

Devonshire Cat on Wellington Street also very popular with away fans - loads of great beers and good food but about a 20 minute walk to the ground.

Right then SeasideShrimper

If you like proper beer and you're here early, you're spoilt for choice (we haven't only got the one Wetherspoons that runs out of real ale at 10pm!)

Near the ground:

Near the ground, you will find most pubs are home fans only but without colours, you should be alright in:

Beer Engine: http://www.beerenginesheffield.com/ - welcomes sensible away fans
Cremorne: https://www.facebook.com/TheCremorne/
Albion: https://www.facebook.com/albionpubsheffield/?fref=ts

South Sheffield:

If you are driving in and require somewhere to park, Heeley has a few pubs and on-street parking and is a short walk away from the ground. Choose from:

Sheaf View: https://twitter.com/SheafView
The Brothers Arms: https://www.facebook.com/thebrothersarms/
White Lion: http://www.whitelionsheffield.co.uk/
Tramshed: https://www.facebook.com/The-Tramshed-411632215664267/

I have probably missed loads but I if anyone else has any suggestions, I will add them to the list and pin it for future reference.

If you like lager... take your pick of anywhere.

GRUMPY BLADE
Pinchy
Silent Blade

Lookin' good fellas.
Next rehearsal.
1100 on Sunday.

The Sheldon, The Tramway, The Pump, The Earl Arundel, The Cross Guns, The Lansdowne, The Norfolk Arms opposite Wards brewery, The Moorfoot Tav, bottom Red Lion in Heeley and followed by a night out in The Locarno..

You can't go wrong though the ale in The Lansdowne and The Tramway wont ever get the CAMRA types frothing at the beard..

Thanks for all the kind advice and recommendations!

For the record, I'm an Ale man, but my mate likes a Kopparberg/any other cider if there's no Kopparberg.

I'll be wearing colours but also like to chat with opposition fans. Can I get in anywhere with home fans whilst wearing colours?

Fingers crossed!

We don't get many away fans in the Sheaf View but they are always welcome, we'll be in the conservatory and will chat to you. Doubt they'll do Kopparburg, but they do have at least one draught cider.

Sentinel Brew House should be alright for colours. Not sure how many home fans go in but they've got a beer + food offer on for matchgoers.

It's not that there's trouble, it's more that the pubs around the ground are of the traditional variety (i.e. tiny) and prioritise serving their regular customers.

The Rutland will tick one of the boxes, and you'll be able to practise your Yorkshire accent when ordering a pint of "Reet Pale", though whether you'd actually want to chat to any of the regulars......

If you're an ale man, you won't go far wrong with the Devonshire Cat. Some cracking ales on there (and a rather nice cider on tap for your mate too). The Hop is just over the road (square) which is decent too. Should be ok with colours on.
