First post so give me a chance ....

Given the run Forest are on and as they go to Derby next weekend, I reckon there is a very strong chance that this time next week Psycho will be gone.

There is bound to be a media and Forest fan clamour for NC "to go home".

Personally, given how many managers they have got through in the last 2-3 years, I think he would be mad to take it on given what a mess that club is in - but he is bound to be tempted ....

I'm hoping that NC sees the Blades as a "project" that is in progress and that he feels he will be given sufficient support by the Board (and fans) to be a success here.

We have the big Cup semis to come this month and I hope NC's answer would be No.
I think our season we will be in a mess if he says Yes.

Thoughts ??

They've fallen out a bit have Forest and Nigel. Might be too soon to make him top choice, but given time...

Well you can't rule anything out in football, but I doubt it. Anybody who takes Forest on is mad. Pearce has had an absolute fortune to spend, but still screwed up.

Apparently, that managerial success and all-round good guy Roy Keane was in the crowd at Forest yesterday.

So, I wouldn't worry too much. Anyway, if you listen to Football Heaven every night, you'd know that one of the stand-out managerial talents is currently with Wednesday...

Think Ferguson at Posh is also on thin ice, they could come calling!

I agree with John Denver, there is a resentment that Clough has for Forest that still burns, even if there has been a building of bridges to some extent over recent months.

Mr Clough was in the right place at the right time for us when we were heading for the abyss yet again . Forest are in a different position and will have seen how McLaren has kicked on Derby to another level .

The appointment of Stuart Pearce was a bad move , and i can see them making the same mistake , in the manager merry go round.

Mr Clough runs the show at BDTBL and he would not get the same privilege at Forest.

There is more chance of Roy Keen getting the job , than Mr Clough . Also Mr Clough is loyal and committed , thats why long term it is SUFC gain . However his reputation and definitely the boards could stand or fall on this season.

Roy Keen ( as mentioned in a earlier post ) would suit Forest , as they are both going nowhere , with all money spent already .

If be really disappointed if NC went to Forest. He has something potentially huge going on a Bramall Lane and can build a legacy approaching what his father did - but, crucially, somewhere else, somewhere else that has even more potential. IF he went to Nottingham he would always be compared to his Dad and would never get a real crack at making something of his own. He has done the Derby job in his fathers footsteps and been bombed out there at a time he may have thought all the threads were about to come together. With United he is building something again, building something that could leave his managerial mark on the game in his own style, in his own way and not under the shadow of his late, great old man.

I am certain that NC will go through a thought process in a similar way and will come to the same conclusion. Why go to Forest for all that upheaval and uncertainty when he has a great job to do here. A job that could result in a legacy every bit as impressive as his genes suggest.

Sometimes you get to a place and it just feels right. I'm hoping that NC feels that here and that he wants to see it through and turn this sleeping giant into a force to be reckoned with and one to be feared - especially in cup competitions.

(Fucking Cup Tarts ;))

Roy's Keen....

Under different circumstances I would expect Forest to be an attractive job for anyone including Clough, especially given their financial backing and players. I agree with Flat Bob's point though, Clough and his staff have a way of doing things and they like to have control over the football side by the sound of it. It sounds like the directors at Forest like to have a massive say, so it wouldn't work.

I doubt NC would turn down a "big" club - Liverpool springs to mind but I would expect him to have returned us to the premier before that would happen, or anyone would come looking.

He stays quite clearly that Derby was "unfinished business", so could possibly expect him to want to do that.

As for Forest - not a chance. NC seems to be a very loyal type of person - he calls us a REAL football club and I just get a feeling he is warming to us in more than just a professional - I am doing a job type scenario.

Reckon he likes to build a bit of a dynasty and may likes the idea of emulating his dad with a provincial team and beat the big boys a bit.

Out of interest, what's the enmity people are speaking of between Clough and Forest?

There have been a few niggling issues in the games whilst Nigel managed Derby v Forest, and I believe there were some issue's regarding how his dad/family were treated towards the end but I think the heart of it is that despite his success at Forest, Nigel's a Derby man through and through...

Leeds could be looking for a manager soon too
