I had a little too much time on my hands this morning due to travelling and have done a randomly generated fixture list to give me an idea of how many of games will look winnable. Obviously we all know who the other teams are, but I think it's only when you read through them all together that you get a true sense of how many winnable games there are and the phases where you can go a month without a point. I remember our Chelsea A/ Everton H/ Man U A/ Liverpool A stretch last time we were in the Prem.

Anyway, the fixtures I generated using last years calendar saw us drawn to play Watford H first game, visit Old Trafford in our opening away fixture, finish at St James's Park with Burnley away on Boxing Day and Southampton at home on New Year's Day. Burnley were our last opponents at the Lane

Oh, and I decided that WBA would win the play offs, so they're in.

I appreciate it's a bit pointless, but it amused me and it may amuse you, and if it doesn't then fine, don't bother reading it.

Anyway, here they were:

Wk 1: Watford H

2: Manchester U A

3. Leicester C H

4. Manchester C A

5. West Brom H

6. Everton A

7. Newcastle U H

I like the last game of the season!

You can have the real fixture list in just over 5 weeks time ( 13th June ).

Have a feeling that we will be first up by playing on the Friday to start the season off. Not based on anything other than a hunch. Think Sky will want everyone to get a look at the new boys is all.

Had us on 42 points, would that be enough?

If we play Tottenham, Wolves, Southampton, or Watford on a Friday we'll be top of the league once we've kicked off.

I had us on 43, and yes. I'd be amazed if it wasn't. Think that a point a game (38) would almost certainly be enough. the number of points taken off the top teams is shrinking every year, and so teams have gone down in 18th with 35, 37, 34, 33 and probably 31 (Cardiff on 31 with one to play) the last 5 years.

Will the fixture on the weekend of Saturday 5th October be live on Sky as we'll be on our annual weekend in Portugal and I don't believe any of us have the wherewithal for i follow or any of that streaming malarky.

Hope we play Friday night the first game and Sunday the following week.

Only went and booked a week away the opening Saturday-Saturday of the PL season.:(

The only way we're playing on Friday though is if we play one of the big 6 away. This season was Arsenal Vs Leicester I think, so Tottenham away for us to be able to sing "we're top of the league" haha

Yes, 39.9 points should do.

Never mind 42 or 39.9, since 2000 only four teams have reached 38 and not stayed up:

2002/03, West Ham on 42.
2006/07, us on 38.
2010/11, Birmingham and Blackpool on 39.

1st game of the season will be us at home in front of the sky cameras. Nailed on.

saints fans will be pissed off with that journey on new years day
