First off, amazing first half lads. Seriously, forget any "Hull took us lightly" bollocks, we were awesome and we made them look pedestrian. Second half they made some changes and upped the tempo. If, and it's always if, we'd not gone behind we could have nicked it for me. Sadly we let the 4th in and that was the killer.

As to the rest well where do you start? For me living abroad and not getting to see us very often I thought we looked good, very good! We passed, we made space, we looked like we knew what we were doing. Lost our shape first 15 minutes second half but that was a result of conceding a couple of avoidable goals more than anything. I would love us to sign Brayford and Coady, I would love us to sign a striker and a centre half. We're close to being a good side and with Clough in charge I think we have a chance.

I never go for the "just happy to get to Wembley" bollocks, I want to see us win so as proud as I am that we turned up today, I'm absolutely gutted that we didn't hold on and beat the scruffy fuckers.

Now for the bitterness. I hate Steve Bruce. Patronizing fat ugly bastard, I hope you explode like that bloke on Monty Python. Quinny, you horrible ginger dwarf like twat. You scored against us at Wembley and I'll never forgive you for that. Hull fans, sing when you're winning and fuck right off.

Proud to be a Blade, gutted yet again.

Bit harsh on Quinn. We sold him when we needed the money, he didn't ask to go. And he didn't celebrate his goal.

the only bit that galls me is Quinn and fucking Bruce lording it over us...i loathe both bastards

Hate Bruce but disagree about Quinn, he served us well unlike Bruce and he put some coffers in the bank, unlike Bruce and he ain't a Geordie twat?.........unlike Bruce!
Reality setting in now feel very proud but totally deflated.

Bit harsh on Quinn. We sold him when we need

Don't really care to be honest Dazzler, he scored against us so can fuck right off for me. A day for Blades today, not ex-players who put one past us.

Fair enough. I'm as disappointed as the next man, but I don;t think there's a need for any bad feeling. Both teams played it fair and square and the better team won in the end,

Ignore me mate, I'm a horribly sore loser and get very bitter but that's just me. I would say that it wasn't the better team that won though, rather the better squad. They had game changers on the bench, we didn't.

Quinn can fuck right off for me, i didn't see the midget score v hudds two years ago...and his loyal service aside he is an overrated fuck up...sorry to say but he is

The better team overall didnt win.
Apart from a daft 15 minutes 2nd half we looked like a prem team-very organised and on the front foot.
We were immense, that first half is the best ive ever seen us play be it all the circumstances with wembley hoodoo.
Nc is the best thing that has ever happened to us and the bloke is on the verge of being immortilised as a legend/were a match made in heaven and never felt so proud to be a supporter of the red and white.
The pigs should be worried. We are on the march, and dominance is not far away.

I disagree. We shaded the first half, but didn't dominate it (that it itself was an immense achievement given the two divisions difference).

Second half, Hull were far better. When they went 4-2 up, they just sat back and looked comfortable, but still looked dangerous going forward. We looked well beaten until the brief Murphy inspired hope.

As I say, we played really well, but I don;t think anyone can doubt they deserved it.

Quinny scored but looked sick about doing it and did everything to avoid celebrating it. To be fair he couldn't miss. He loves Blades and I think those few who've had a go at him need to grow up and realise that pro footballers above all play for the club that employs them. They may wish at times it wasn't the case but Quinny is a pro but is also a Blade.

If he was sick about doing it he would not have been able to play. All this not celebrating is an overly common fake up these days.

Eh?

Are you suggesting that he fake an injury to avoid playing?

And why is not celebrating a fake? United gave Quinn his break and he obviously has an affection for the club. He obviously has to do is best for his current employer, but not celebrating shows respect for United.

The guy can't win. His goal virtually put Hull in the final. He would have been within his rights to go apeshit. No doubt we would then have got a massive thread saying what a cunt he was.

i don't know what you think i am saying there Darren but its got nothing to do with faking injury. It is simply to point out what bollocks this whole non celebration thing is. I am utterly fucked off with people tonight especially those who defend Quinn. Defend him but try not to impute to me things that i have not said

Fuck him the little shit, his last months here were meh.

Always gonna be tainted by that goal, may as well move to Hell

Sorry if I misunderstood you. It seems you took the word "sick" literally.

I don't know why you think the non celebration thing is bollocks, it seems a perfectly reasonable way for a player to indicate he still has an affection for his old club. Obviously Quinn is now a Hull player, so he has to do his best for Hull. That involved, in this case, scoring against SUFC. Not rubbing it in by madly celebrating seems to me to show respect to United and their fans.

I really don't get this seeing one of our old players (who left because we wanted him to leave) scoring against us as a personal affront.

I'm really pleased for him to have the joy of scoring such a big goal at Wembley and getting to a cup final, and getting a second crack at the Premier League only a year after being in the third tier with us.

Yes I wish he'd scored that goal against Hudds and we were where he is now, but he would have been hurting after the play off defeat too and deserves to put that behind him today as we have by scoring three cracking goals at Wembley. I hope he scores the winner in the final.

This cup run has allowed our fans and those of the teams we have met along the way to demonstrate great humility and respect towards each other. Let's not spoil that now it's over.

. They had game changers on the bench, we didn't.[/QUOTE]

Thats the difference !
Thats why Nige has said we need 3/4 quality additions in the summer..
We have some great youngsters who have worked their butts off in the last couple of months with games coming thick and fast.We need more bodies to give these more time to develop, and I think ,a cracking squad for next season !!
UTB

As a Hull fan put it in the queue for the train at the Stadium station, you have to feel a bit for Quinny - scores a winner at Wembley but doesn't get to celebrate.
First half we looked premier league and they looked league 1. 2nd half we looked shot, and that goes for the crowd too. Just couldn't get the atmosphere going like the first half with the early goal. :(

Steve Bruce waited at the end and shook all the United players hands as they left the field, he didn't need to do that he could have gone in with his team

Which Hull player came over and clapped the Blade fans at the end on his own, I'm sure it wasn't Quinny.

Mixed emotions after that thrilling experience I must say. Disappointed with the defending for all of the goals but our defence is bound to be a bit leaky when we are so attack minded against premier league opposition. That disappointment just goes to show what Nige has done at this club in the short space of time he's been here. We were immaculate in that first half, the best performance by any Sheffield United side I've seen in my lifetime. Immensely proud and very excited to be a Blade.

Also, I have nothing against Quinn or his limited celebrations (which to be honest I find stupid that a player isn't allowed to celebrate scoring a goal, regardless of who it is against)

Totally agree with what people are saying about game changers.
We're just thin on the ground with subs. Mainly strikers.

First half was amazing, could have been 3-0 up. Second half Hull changed it and we couldn't handle it.
Fair play to Hull, they were just as amazing 2nd half as we were first half and probably just about deserved to win in the end.
Then when we needed to respond, we had nobody to bring on to do that. Really was the difference in the teams.

Anyway, what's important now is the board back Clough cos if we keep the players we have and add a few we can be in the Premier within 2 or 3 years. Seriously. And i'm the last person to get carried away, i'm a miserable bleeder! Clough has got it all as a manager at this level, no idea what went wrong at Derby but he looks like a winner ever since he came here. Scougall and Murphy especially can really kick on next season and terrorise defences. The board need to let Clough keep building cos this could turn into something special.

For me the big difference was not between the teams but in the available options on the bench. Fat Bastard had many quality options to change the players and the system. That coupled with size, skill and fitness was just a bit to much but I was bristling with pride all the way home.

Before next season we have an exciting summer to look forward to and next year will be ours, oh yes, be afraid L1
