I can't believe that's true. I believe players with The Common Cold will have played in the past.

Whilst you're right about the cold being a virus you can't seriously be comparing Covid 19 with a cold? Ramsdale is not fit in that he carries a potential life threatening virus, no Manager in their right mind would consider him to be available for selection.

I can't believe you & I are far apart. I'm not digging. I'm staying on the surface. This situation is unprecedented. Universal testing of all players. For a specific virus. Where it appears you can be "conventionally fit to play" even if you are asymptomatically positive. Unprecedented. And .... all leading to the possibility (remote maybe) of Wilder thinking a player is OK for Saturday, the player not having a temperature, not coughing. But being told by the Club Snot Analyst - you've got to pull him Chris. I'm not making any wider point than that.

That's football at the moment, he can't play if he's got Covid even if he's fit and healthy. It's the same for every club, so I don't see what the issue is?

I prefer the type where a guy goes home from work 100% safe in the knowledge he’s not passing on an invisible death sentence to a child who may be vulnerable!
I understand that might be your view. But, I prefer the brand of football where The Manager picks the team. Just my preference
But, for 100+ years Managers have been able to pick the team from players who are fit, ready, raring to go, trained well. As "Ramsdale" is. But, on this occasion, unlike the previous 100+ plus years, The Manager will be overruled and won't be able to pick "Ramsdale". And, not because the player isn't available in the way we've used the word for 100+ years. But, I understand your point - you're using "available". I'm using "fit".

Many apologies. I'm conservative about restart. Partly for the reason you explain. Players might asymptomatically spread the virus. So, I am strongly in favour of the testing. And strongly in favour of asymptomatically positive tested players being left out & isolated. I was rather cack handedly trying to point out the unusual circumstances that would lead to. I can see how I've mislead. Allow me to correct the impression. In no way am I advocating that tested positive (asymptomatically) players should still play. Sorry.

What's the hold up now then?

The clubs at the bottom still digging their heels in?

I don't see any reason why the Premier League couldn't have resumed a couple of weeks ago when the Bundesliga did.

The "hold up" is because Germany wasn't as badly hit and had more tests than us earlier so is on top of it more. We are a bit of a shambles and are riddled.

At least use an old man rather than a child if you're going to take that line, given that children are for all intents and purposes invincible from this

I carnt wait for us to start playing games again. even behind closed doors but back on the tele hopefully. But I have had the virus, and it put me in hospital for a week. After trying to ride it for 2 weeks at home. It had got hold of me, and got on my chest (pneumonia) and was also effecting my kidneys. I understand the hype behind this virus having had it quite bad. It can fuck your body up pretty quickly. Dont really know what my point is! I guess its that any precautrons that can be taken, should br taken.

if they bring it back before the football starts a lot of people will be well pissed Off. I doubt many subscribe for the PGA tour and snooker.

Aussie rugby league not your thing!?

BT have German football, UFC and WWE already up and going and don't think they are charging yet

Four positive at three Clubs from 1008 tests. 12 in total from 2,752 tested. Number of tested per club to be increased to 60 from 50 in next round. Positive Test Numbers continue to be small.

What's the betting these are from the bottom 6 sides?

Ask Troy Deeney what his thoughts are on that one. It’s this kind of view that’s making irrational decisions such as playing a game of football appear to be worth more than life itself. I’m not particularly for or against anything on this when taken in its context. But it amazes me that the higher the rewards (financial), the less we all seem to fear this disease or feel we are more invincible.

Because the teams at the top who have Champions League places to secure are invincible and are desperate to play? They could be playing the game too?? How about the upper teams are denying the real test results in desperation to hit the cash jackpot, especially now we all need the cash more than ever???

Such as not playing these games pal? Like Deeney said, he’s not able to get his haircut, and his daughter is high risk but he’s expected to play? Watford could go down due to his absence but so long as Mousset isn’t affected we advocate playing. It’s bonkers pal. We need to take our partisan beliefs away from this and accept football is no more important than Dominic Cummings!

Football is far more important than Dominic Cummings.
