Someone who has a bit of an insight said first set of games to be played between the above mentioned dates

We'll see.

Was there another meeting today where dates would've been discussed and possibly confirmed?

The ONLY sensible solution is to finish the season even if it means delaying the start of the next season. If curtailment is to come about then then the current places should be fixed & relegation of the bottom 3 confirmed. How many times have we heard " the league doesn't lie". That applies at any stage of the season. Games in hand? Decide on the points per game for the very few outstanding fixtures e.g. Blades vs Villa. Then they all "finish" on he same number of fixtures.

Wasn't today the deadline UEFA had insisted on for the confirmation on how leagues were to be finished?

Yes but UEFA GM has been put back a few weeks so it was seen as flexible by UEFA. I think originally there main meeting was later this week but now its been put back into June further - 25th May was not set in stone anymore.

So I have been reading things about the end of june, which sounds reasonable but I fear that it's gonna be a huge shithole after 30 june with all the contracts.

FIFA posted some guidelines a month ago, but that was all on a voluntary basis as they are not above the European contract laws. A lot of the players contracts got some extra stuff in it that gives the football corporations some leeway, but in terms of extending a contract without consent that's just out of the question.

Part of the players probably will just accept an contract extension for a couple of months, but I also reckon that lots of players will decline and actually will leave for free and if clubs don't allow that they will start lawsuits. Also clubs signed a lot of new players already. (Chelsea with Ziyech).

What's gonna be the rules for that? Most obvious would be the new players are not available and the players that leave are just bad luck. But Chelsea would lose Willian and Pedro without being able to start Ziyech in that case.

Luckily for us Lundstram at leat got an option for another year, so this won't directly apply to us but it will still affect us in a probably positive way.

There are meetings most of the weeks.

yesterday and today was/is the 3rd round of testing

today the league are discussing with players and managers about “phase 2” (contact training).

Tomorrow the clubs will vote on phase 2.

Thursday they will have a meeting to discuss the rest of project restart. So we may have a restart date on Thursday.

Here's an option that may make the lower league teams play ball.

If you have a player out through CV19, you can chose a player from the opposition that is then ineligible to play that game (of similar importance) for each player you have missing.

I like this idea, I've provided the option to the Premier League and they have taken it on board.

and laughed.

Once again a positive test but asymtomatic.

More evidence the virus has mutated to a less severe form?
It hasn’t been severe in young healthy people from the start. Only around 60 under 45’s with no known underlying health conditions have died in the uk out of a pool of 38 million.

I know but asymtomatic means showing no symtoms at all not even a mild illness
Obviously I don’t know this as fact but I would imagine that has been the case for the majority of people, the issue is not everyone has had an antibody test so we don’t know about it. Plus the media trying to scare the living s**t out of every 24/7.

Asymptomatic positive tests are of course the worst type of positive test for football. It means the manager (Wilder) is no longer in charge. He has a key player (say Ramsdale or similar). Who is fit enough to play in the conventional sense. Raring to go. But his Snot says otherwise. And the assumption is the Manager will have to leave him out as he's overruled by the Club Snot Analyst.

Next man up then ..... 👍

The manager will pick the team from the players available, how has that changed from the previous 100+ years of league football?
But, for 100+ years Managers have been able to pick the team from players who are fit, ready, raring to go, trained well. As "Ramsdale" is. But, on this occasion, unlike the previous 100+ plus years, The Manager will be overruled and won't be able to pick "Ramsdale". And, not because the player isn't available in the way we've used the word for 100+ years. But, I understand your point - you're using "available". I'm using "fit".

I agree it's shit, I'm fit and healthy, so I should be able to go to the match as usual, but unfortunately the government and the scientists have decided I can't. It's just how it is and tough shit really, but we've all just gotta make the best of a bad situation.

Players who have a virus that they can pass onto others have never ever been deemed fit to play.

Of course people disagree. I don't think you should be able to go to the match as usual. I'm making a very specific point in relation to the apparently asymptomatic positive test returned by Aaron Ramsdale. That Managers will no longer be able to pick fit players, who are raring to go, on the say so of the Club Snot Analyst. Sure, there'll still be 11 players, in the correctly coloured shirt, kicking a ball, in front of an empty stadium.
