You are probably right, however it’s somewhat easy for us to say that now, If this had happened in 2015 / 16 then that’s us, that’s pause for thought isn’t it?
 
FA cup final mooted for early August and the outstanding games all to be played at Wembley.

100%, we’re unlucky in the sense that this has come during one of our best seasons in living memory and it could cost us Europe. But more importantly, being a Premier League club at this time is incredibly lucky. We would probably be in the shit big time if we were still in the Championship let alone League One.
 

Whilst I’m fully in favour of getting this season finished I do wonder about the implications of changes to the venues or format of the remaining games of the season.

Could be the thin end of the wedge for things like overseas fixtures etc or messing about with the format, introducing play offs for Europe etc. Our relegation decider against Wigan in 07.....future games like that could be moved to Wembley.

Whilst I’m not saying this is going happen the Premier League certainly won’t be blind to an opportunity presenting itself.
 
Brighton appear to be the first club to have issues with playing remaining games at neutral venues. If more clubs are against it then that just puts back any potential restart date until agreement is reached. Would any dissenting clubs be forced to play at venues against their will if put to the vote?

It is inevitable, totally I'd say. I'm referring to reverting back to a herd immunity strategy. Because there is no alternative. None. So you just have to let it loose and wipe out those it is going to wipe out in as controlled a way as possible, so that the health service can cope and still has resources to deal with other emergencies.

I've been posting on here for weeks about the vaccine and how some people have got that completely out of context. It isn't a cure, even if we had one. But we don't have one and won't have one for some time - and even when we do eventually have one, until we've given to 85% of more of the population it will convey no benefit - and even when we have eventually made enough of it to be able to give it to 85% of the population, it may only convey a very modest benefit.

Are we all doomed? Yes! But not because of the coronavirus necessarily - we are all doomed anyway - we are going to die of something - every single one of us. No point in making ourselves miserable about it. I think the best strategy is an "accordion" strategy. In, out, in, out. We're in lockdown now, let us out gently, but be prepared to go back in again if it starts getting some steam up, then let us out again, and back in again...that's how it's going to be unfortunately, until enough people have come into contact with it that is halts the transmission of it.

Of course there’s an alternative. There will be large numbers alive today that wouldn’t have been had we adopted a “wipe em out in as controlled a way as possible” at the start of this. And who far from having a guaranteed death sentence on them will still likely be alive if the right measures are taken in the coming months too. The very least that could be done is to shield vulnerable groups while removing restrictions on the less vulnerable.

There is an enormous difference between accepting that we are all going to die at some point, and accepting that as a reason to do nothing to try and delay people dying prematurely. We might as well abolish all means of healthcare if the latter is the way to go.

Presumably because 5 of their last 9 games are at home, 4 of which are against top 5 teams. Losing home support is a massive disadvantage for them. I don't agree with it but understand their viewpoint.

Brightons hierarchy have been very vocal in trying to influence the thoughts of the media and it works ,they were the first to moot the idea of no relegation and promoting Leeds and west brom and that's since been repeated by several empty vessels in the media who seemingly don't have the capacity for independent thought

Now they are sowing the seeds of neutral venues being unfair just watch how this debate will be regurgitated with clubs like villa Wheeling out ex players like gabby agbolonoloololahor stating how right they are and trying to chuck a spoke in the wheels

To be honest it’s hard to give a fuck about teams losing home advantage. It’s a completely subjective concept and the League was a complete freak show with the hamfisted application of VAR before all this happened anyway.

Plus given the way we were cheated in 07 I’m not going to get the violins out for other clubs over this.
