Why would it be chaos? I am sure you said PA doesn't mind doing a live stream.
He doesn't.

I've made this call.

It would be repetition from people joining 20 minutes in asking questions he has already answered, no doubt there would be swearing, a bit of the tired question of 'wheez money gone'?, some 'get out of our club', and a few sensible questions.
I've read EVERY SINGLE submitted question and it's now over 400 in total, this isn't even my job.

Live would be ridiculous. I'm very happy with my decision, maybe we'll do a live one with him or someone else in the future but live is harder to manage, more stressful and I enjoy a life which is a glen of tranquility. I don't do stress.

Trying to pull together questions being provided live, via twitter for example, and trying to get answers while following up the questions to the submitters satisfaction?
It would need a team behind them pulling it all together and keeping them updated.

Horrible flashbacks to attending the last l live Q&A in the South Stand, older fans claiming to be Biggest Blade Ever "I've supported Yoonited since 1947", asking "weers moneh gone?!" two minutes after same question has been asked then frothing at the mouth cos they don't understand the concept of running costs and debt servicing.

You are absolutely 100% best doing a pre-recorded interview.

Agreed. It has to be pre-recorded to prevent the barrage of cringe worthy questions and abuse that the Prince would get 😬

Hopefully Sunday if we can find a 'serious credible journalist' to ask all these questions submitted by fans.

It was going to be live but I decided that would be chaos and this thread has only confirmed my fears.
Just double down on your bias like Dangerous Darren Smith has done 👍🏼

If you’ve used Twitter as the medium for gathering questions surely 395 of the 400 are beyond the comprehension of most humans anyway, you should be left with a few questions from vaguely normal people to ask.

Don't matter whether it is live or recorded The Prince will only answer what he wants to answer. So yeah it is just an updated form of the stage managed Q&A McCabe used to hold in the south stand with an audience of people who would ask the "right sort of Questions" with the added bonus he can turn his video link off while Hal and Nick take all the shit and dogs abuse. Don't seem right or fair that he should use fan content providers as his propaganda megaphone , we do have a media team within the club don't we? Who knows seems like since he sacked Slav the club has been left to run itself resulting in embargo's and 90% of the team being in the last year of their contracts. I suppose he expected to be walking into the sunset with his pockets full of £££'s by now.

YorkBlade how many of the 400+ questions are you going to hope to ask and how are you selecting them?

I wonder if (some) people’s frustrations are rooted in thinking it will be “selective” questioning, avoiding particularly pointy topics.
Or that given the length of time PA has and time to answer ones that are asked, it may result in not really addressing the bulk of the questions.

A lot are repeated. We'll ask as many as we can. I'd just ask that you judge it after it has happened.

I'm looking forward to it for sure, I'll certainly be watching. I don't get anyone who has a go at the Sheff Utd Way on the interview or the Prince to be fair. He's not perfect but to come out and do an interview with the fans, and it is the fans just because it's through the Sheff Utd Way doesn't mean it's not for all of us. If the Prince is selective with questioning than so be it but I'd still like to listen to what he has to say and I've watched enough videos by the Sheff Utd Way to know that'll it'll be very well done.

What do people want, someone who never communicates with the fans or someone who never speaks to the fans. People who criticise need to think do they want fan channels that interact with the club or do we just want to be ignored like has happened in the past at times. It's very easy to criticise, can't we just be nicer to people to be frank, especially to fellow Blades! Darren Smith also might not be everyone's cup of tea, if Hecky doesn't want him continuing then yes it should stop, but bare in mind that DS is another form of communication from the Prince. Again we'll be left in the dark if people want that then don't complain when that happens.

Actions > words. I honestly don't care if an owner ever speaks. Just put qualified people in the roles they should be (making sure you have sufficientskill and experienceat alllevels), co-ordinate the overall strategy and ensure the bills are paid.

No problem with SUW and good for Nick and Hal. But anything he says is secondary to the (in my opinion) poor way the club is run

Seems a common sense decision for the reasons stated.

People ultimately want a rich owner who is happy to lose money each year. Who wouldn't in a world where huge transfers capture the media headlines?! But think people (including maybe the Prince himself) also probably underestimate the costs nowadays of running a football club and the fact that if you are in the Championship you are most likely loss making on an operating basis and are thus under pressure to meet the shortfall through player sales. Pre player sales the average Championship team lost £15m last year, including spending 108% of turnover on wages.

Story becomes different in the PL due to the massive inequality in TV fees between the leagues, but we still don't get £100m+ in the bank to freely spend. We already had parachute payments last year so our income doesn't jump up as much and a lot of our cost base jumps due to promotion clauses. There will be money to spend but it's probably less than people think on promotion, particularly if you bear in mind the wages of signings become a challenge if you get relegated.

Good points.

Worth remembering that PA entered the club on the 3rd September 2013*, the day on which we, a League One club, drew 0-0 with Scunthorpe in the Football League Trophy, and won on penalties. We lost at home to Hartlepool in the next round in front of 4100.

The manager was David Weir. We were bottom of League 1. They were as dark as times had been since relegation to Division 4.

Fact is, Prince Abdullah was rich enough at that point. Sheffield United just did not cost very much to run at that point compared to what it costs now. Our income has increased maybe 10 times compared to what it was then. Trouble is our costs have probably increased 15 times. PA is simply not rich enough to fill that gap out of pocket.

Love him or hate him, his ownership has coincided with one of the best periods in 50 years to be a Blade. Whether because of the Prince or despite the Prince is probably a question that can't yet be answered. Might need 10 more years to pass before we will know for sure.

(*Amazingly three of that season's squad are current Premier League players. Maguire, Coady and Calvert-Lewin.)

Two - Coady a championship player

Will you send him the questions beforehand or just ask them on the call at the time you are speaking to him?

Catch 22 really because if he gets time to think he might be able to give more detailed answers but if he’s asked something he doesn’t like he can just ignore the question.

It would be interesting if you could reveal how much is cut by the time the video is released but appreciate that he might not appreciate you revealing this.

Maybe stick a ‘directors cut’ out for SUW+ members 🤔

Those were my thoughts too We have the questions that can be put to the Prince in a calm sensible way no reason why the Prince can't do it live he either chooses to answer questions or he swerves them. That way he gives us all a better insight of the state of the club and how it has been run since Slav, fair to say a section of the fans have never had any trust in him or like me a lot are becoming increasingly sceptical of how things are being run at the moment.
