Prince on Sheff United Way

Nick, Hal and Ollie are just fans who like to talk about Sheffield United and have curated content that has an audience because of videos with ex-pros. It takes so much time and energy to do this for very little financial return and I'm grateful that they do it. Their content allows me to ignore my prevailing existential crisis between Blades matches just like Bladespod, Four Blades, Blades Ramble etc., Going in on them for getting access to the Prince when literally no one else has been given it, is nonsense from grown men.

I'm sad and angry about Illy leaving but it's one of the better scenarios. At least we got some money for him and the profit on him is mental in percentage terms. He was always leaving to a bigger club and there was no guarantee having him as a blade would keep us up. I'd have loved for him to sign a contract with us but if he doesn't want that, he doesn't want that. In any case, he's gone.

The Prince does not have to talk about his decision to sell Illiman, nor does he have to speak about transfer policies, takeovers or any matters but has chosen to. I disagree with some of the things he's done but I think he's put the club in a good position financially by not spunking all our money on unproven talent. I'm also impressed with the potential target snot being leaked so other teams cannot poach our transfer targets like Villa and Fulham did when we got promoted with Wilder.

Whether we can understand it or not, he's chosen SUW and probably expects a softer ride compared to other outlets. Frost vs Nixon comes to mind. Hal is obviously taking the fans cycnism on board and is collating the mood, questions and outrage to present and this is far more than we've had in the past.

SUW can only ask questions and then press and probe for answers or clarifications based on the princes response they cannot control the Princes' response and I really hope the people who are accusing them of being in the Prince's pocket understand this.

In any case, whether you think SUW are a force for good or evil in this age of bedwetting - be kind and considerate. It's human beings doing their best.

I dont know about the prince on the Sheff Utd way he should be on the bloody Parkway .

Prince has agreed to go on the Blades Ramble in Dec/Jan too, regardless of whether he is still our owner. Prince said if he’s not the owner, it’ll free him up to be more open on certain stories

Have these traded credibility for access? Really doesn’t sit right that something up as fan content could be a way to control narratives/information.
I don’t think so yes SUW tilts towards the positive and optimistic but that’s always been the vibe of the channel and they’ve certainly had access to the prince when others haven’t. But to be fair I don’t think they’ve ever really ducked anything.

The big change this summer is that there was a meeting or call between the Prince and SUW and Darren Smith where if Smith is to be believed they were informed of some of the clubs transfer targets which is probably overstepping the line but that’s not SUW’s fault I doubt they went into the call expecting to be told that and so far as I can see they haven’t leaked any deals they’ve just done their usual player profile type videos on players some which have then subsequently been linked to us but plenty that haven’t.

The proof will be in the pudding with this interview which Hal has said will be robust and if it is then I don’t think much muck can be thrown their way.

I don't think they are controlling the narrative at all. They are giving you the official line from the club. Whether it came from a fan channel or a more traditional outfit, you're still going to get the same line.

The only reason I think it's wrong to go down this avenue is because when bad stuff happens it naturally creates fan division. Nobody was sending James Shield abuse when we sold Beattie because people acknowledged it was his job to break bad news. They'll send it to 3 fans on twitter though and presume they are supporting the decisions being made when, as far as I've seen, they've only relayed what they've been told.

I'd wait and see how the interview goes. Send them a question. If you think the interview is too soft then that's the time to talk about it but to me it's harsh to criticise them before we've seen. If it's an hour of Hal and The Prince talking about beard trimmers whilst Nick sings "Give Peace A Chance " then it's fair game to call them out!

YorkBlade Hi Hal, not sure if you have listened to football heaven tonight, but hecky does say that illy turned down Everton in January. Obviously a bid needs to be accepted for that. 👍

Isn’t it widely believed that Marseille had a contract agreed with Ndiaye before they even made a bid for him?

Not trying to stick up for the Prince but isn’t it possible Everton contacted Ndiaye and/or his agent before they made a bid? He could’ve told Everton where to go and therefore they didn’t bother making a bid.

I don’t have a clue what happened in January but that seems as plausible as the Prince accepting a bid from Everton.

That may be true. My only interest is what his answer is to the question. Did you accept a bid from Everton in January.

You’ve seen the script?

“Fucking Hal”
The Blades very own Alan Partridge, live & direct from err..Cyprus is it? I have a Kiwi mate that does a West Country internet radio punk & post punk show who he reminds me of.. real niche stuff. 🥸
They’re harmless & really, it’s good for the club to have online PR direct by fans. Did anyone send in a question for PA?

Having managed to watch the video in question earlier today they are very much reporting what they’ve been told by the owner.

The bit we won’t get is Ndiaye’s side of the story because he’s busy waving Marseille scarves around and letting off flares with his new admirers!

In the murky world of football agents does it?

The days of club submits bid, waits for green lights to speak to player and only does so when the club agrees seem well behind us.

Maybe the club received a bid told Iliman they had and he said I don't want to go to Everton. So United knocked it back.

Not saying it's what happened. Just remarking that could also be a possible scenario.

I’ve never been in to vlogs or youtubers - find it all very odd. Each to their own though.

I couldn’t help but wonder if the “channel“ might go in this direction when In Good Faith / SUW we’re invited by the Prince to Wembley. All seemed a bit suspect... Come with me I am a nice man I will feed you, care for you, bathe you etc. then when you leave you can tell everyone how nice I am… and IGF gave the puppy dogs eyes and scuttled off all excited… and cleansed.

I’m disturbed by the fact that of the past two prospective buyers, the first is in jail for fraud & the other hurriedly acquired a diplomatic passport from one of the poorest countries in the world, allegedly, when someone did dig into Chiedoze Mobuosi .. what matters as much as anything else, is who PA sells to. How’s that ‘due process’ improved, or has it? I’m not on X/Twittler & many other older Blades won’t be either YorkBlade but I’m sure others have asked about the same issue?

Hi YorkBlade. When is the chat taking place?

I’d like to know why the prince wants to sell now we are in the premier league when surely that was the sun when he first joined the club.

Also as others said about the asking price being too high and the due diligence into new owners due to the extreme dodginess (you don’t have to use those exact words) of the previous two candidates.

Keep up the good work. It is appreciated by some of us!!

Hopefully Sunday if we can find a 'serious credible journalist' to ask all these questions submitted by fans.

It was going to be live but I decided that would be chaos and this thread has only confirmed my fears.

Will we prioritise new contracts for current players? Absolutely key men such as Baldock and Egan can't be allowed to go next summer. Not to mention the younger prospects.

Will the Prince please be a bit more picky about who he's selling to - or just admit he knowingly took their deposits (if legal).

Why would it be chaos? I am sure you said PA doesn't mind doing a live stream.

This anger around content providers is bewildering the hell out of me.
You have your own bias', opinions and view that helps you determine the validity (in your mind) on any piece of information you are told.
That's happens all day, every day but I don't understand why people lose their minds or turn of those providing the information to them.

If you don't like Gary Lineker talking about things outside of football, just don't put any weight in his opinions and ignore his outputs?
If you believe Sheffield United Way have compromised their neutrality by being too close to the owners and therefore nothing more than a propaganda arm of the club, then don't watch the content?

The fact is you aren't going to get The Prince fronting up anywhere else currently, and you have the opportunity to provide the questions, so I'm not sure what your beef is with SU Way, and I say that as someone who doesn't watch a lot of their content because it's not for me. If you want a specific answer, send in a very specific question and highlight what you'd like the answer to confirm.

We've got ourselves in this position because local journo's backed the wrong horse and have been cut off, which they've not taken well, having moans and whines about other journalists who have been given access. SU Way is a fan channel, run by fans with proper jobs. You aren't going to get a Paxman who have a team of researchers to try and foresee how each main question is likely to be answered and what a robust follow up should be to pin down or catch out the interviewee.
If such a thing existed then the owner or senior leadership team would never agree to it anyway.

Give them a break FFS, or just ignore them.
