It won’t be long before BBD is going to be praised for his ‘unseen’ work in homage to Dean Hammond.

When Wilder came in after Adkins he won the respect of the fans by calling it as he saw it & not bullshitting the fans. He was also positive & built up the club and the squad and that became infectious.

Now sadly he’s the complete opposite of that. Okay some of the fanbase are probably a touch more negative than deserved at times (myself included) but you can’t fool us into believing that Choudhury, BBD & Cannon are playing well. The eye test and the stats tell us different. Same as the performances overall, they’re drab and showing little signs of improvement. Jairo, Doherty, Ayew, Rothwell are awful signings but we can’t mention them.

The Wilder that inspired and unified the fanbase is completely gone now. Everything is an excuse, everything has a negative slant on it, there’s constant digs at previous managers, the board & the punters but no self-reflection or acknowledgement of mistakes, especially cos we got 92 points one time. The squad is talked down to manage expectations & he goes on about how hard we’ve had it, rather than bigging the group up. We’re passive and reactive, scared to attack teams - we keep our most exciting player on the bench so we can keep it tight rather than being positive and trying to win the game first and then managing the situation.

It’s a shame it’s gone this way but I don’t see a world in which he wins the whole fanbase back as this version of himself.
great post sums up my feelings as well

I think if Wilder starts Donovan but then brings him off on 70 mins which he might do and BBD comes on and we then draw Wilder will face criticism for not leaving Donovan on and for sitting on a lead; I've definitely seen people saying that.

Wilder mark 3 is not vastly different to mark 1, it's more that he inherited some decent players in League One, Bash, Coutts, Sharp and Freeman, and added to it with Fleck, Duffy, JOC etc. In league one he had the luxury of bedding in some younger players into a winning side.

At present a lot of the better players have been sold, and the budget is much less, there's still some expensive players on decent money who are taking up the budget like McGuiness (I'm actually a fan of him mind) and we're in a league which is unforgivable. I think Wilder shows his frustration that there's a sizeable portion of the fan base who expect us to be where we were 7/8 years ago. I've heard all the arguments against Wilder but I'm sorry I don't agree with most of them.

As I've said many times too, we do need to evolve into a modern recruitment model utilising foreign players but that all costs money, probably more than what we currently can afford because we need quality, not average foreign players who are no better than what we have

I think we assess at the end of this season where we're at, hopefully next season we can push on a little more. In the meantime I think Wilder has took the safer option going with players he knows. Personally I agree, but I accept it's not an exciting season at all, it reminds me of where Warnock was in his 2nd or third season when we were low mid table but fans expected better.

Fans were calling for Warnocks head then too. It was after the Millwall match at the end of the season. Next season we finished second but Warnock got backed finally rather than relying on free transfers and small fees like Kabba.

I think Wilder is the scapegoat for how meh this season is when it's largely not his s fault. In fact to me he's the wallpaper keeping the wall from falling down with huge gaps behind.

Bet you a £1 Wilder NEVER praises BBD for his'unseen work" Thats the kind of made up tripe the sheep on here lap up.

Like Billy said in his interview recently.. " you cant win, some people just like to moan" he's right.

You need to bear in mind that unlike most of us for whom this forum is a pastime, for Random it’s more of a job, fighting the hateful hordes, so it’s no wonder he gets a bit tetchy at times, especially when doesn’t have the capability to answer simple questions.
I'm surprised he can see his keyboard to type with the amount of Chrissy's semen that must be dripping into his eyes

Looks to me like Wilder will play Chong and BBD out wide just to prove he is the one picking the team and not the fans who he considers to be playstation managers. Let me just say a lot of these so called playstation managers have watched football longer than Wilder has been alive and know the difference between good play and the utter rubbish Wilderball is these days. The end must be getting close it always is when the manager starts taking pot shots at the fans.

I acknowledge that he’s probably the only manager we could have with the background shenanigans going on. He ‘gets’ the club, which means he’s putting up with a lot more ownership nonsense than others might do.

I also think he has a lot of limitations and that as a club we should be looking for a complete change in culture away from the insular and backwards way we are currently being run, both on and off the pitch. Wilder contributes to this and should be questioned appropriately.

It's interesting you chose McGuiness as a player on lots of money and not, say, Phillips, Bbd, Choudhury, Riedwald etc...jesus wept

I can't listen to the moaning anymore, the woe is me attitude is doing me head in.

I've not listened to the last 4 or so press conferences / interviews.

It's bad enough watching turgid football, I don't need extra turd talking.

So you think he wants us to be negative? 😂

A lot of posters should read back what they've written and cringe, but they never do.
Oh but I do - and I think failing to play your best team is rather negative , especially when - during the first half last week - we made absolutely no decent chances from our hoofball

You dont know what their wages are. I'll ignore the blasphemy too.

It has been reported that McGuiness is on decent money.
No indeed, much like you have with McGuiness. As for the "blasphemy", have a word with yourself, you've been grasping at straws for a while, do better

Im entitled to my opinion fella just like you are. On Jesus (I'm a Christian as many will know) for once I decided to point that out. There's not a day that goes by at work, or on the tele that someone doesn't say Jesus Christ and not because he's their savior. It does my nut in but I largely ignore it. On this rare occasion I didnt but probably I was being anal on pointing it out because no doubt, like everyone else, you dont mean it to be offensive.

Back to football , it has definitely been reported McGuiness is on decent money. Others like you mentioned we don't know for definite but actually without BBD, Phillips, Choudhury etc we'd be totally screwed.

Anyway, I wish you a good night as I do everyone else. UTB

Fair enough. I didn't mean it to offend, and I apologise if I have. However, as for the decent money, it's been as confidently reported about wages for those I've mentioned as for McGuiness and don't pretend otherwise, or you risk losing any level of respect in your viewpoint..

Btw. I was christened at a CofE church.

Good night. God bless. UTB

I bit partly because it seems most posts I make there's someone criticising Wilder on something I say. In turn I've become far more defensive of Wilder, I have to admit, which probably annoys someone or many.

I appreciate that the blasphemy has nothing to do with football. I wasn't offended but I bit as I say!

Since we're talking faith, it's great you were christened. I'd definitely recommend the Through the Word app. It's amazing although obviously I'm biased! 😂

I appreciate the message back too. God bless too.
