We have scored as many goals as Swansea yet conceded only 2 more than them.

Yet they are in second place.

Would we swop places with their brand of football and manager?

If not, which team have we played this season that we would swop managers and style with?

Who’ve they played in comparison to us? (That’s a genuine question)

I’d swap with them in a heartbeat, they’re using the Jamestown analytics approach and play some good stuff. Had a bad loss against QPR recently but typically look steady.

We’re in a downward spiral of signing shite, with no tactical direction and seemingly no clue on how to modernise the club.

Im more inclined to trust his interpretation than yours to be honest. You keep 'hearing' Stoke only won because of the worldies they scored? Did you see them? Your eyes DO function ?
Ours was a worldie too.

My eyes are fine, here’s some help for yours. As you trust Chris’ interpretation so much maybe he can explain to you that Wolves and Stoke have more shots, more shots on target, more penalty area incursions, a higher xG and more possession.

Then he can explain to you how these games “possibly should have gone our way”.

“Should” -
Expectation or Probability: Used to say something is likely to happen or be true based on normal circumstances.

It’s simply not true. If you don’t want to trust me on this over Chris, then trust the Cambridge English dictionary’s explanation of the word should and the basic laws of mathematics and probability.

As I said, I want him to get things right but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t talk nonsense at times when he’s under pressure nor that he occasionally gets things wrong and it’s happened more frequently this season than prior ones.

I say this as one of Wilder's biggest supporters. As someone who doesn't want us to change manager and wants nothing more than for him to take us back to where we were in his first stint, not just on the pitch but also culturaly.

He's got to take ownership of the negativity. The football isn't effective, nor pragmatic enough to justify the very fair observation that the football is poor. The disconnect between supporters and the club is killing us. It's the first thing he talked about in 2016 and he fixed it. It needs fixing again Chris and I don't know how you do that when for many you are the reason for it even if I find that a misguided and unfair view, but that will be difficult to achieve when even season ticket holders that are on his side like myself are finding it difficult to look forward to going to watch us.

January is a huge month for us. Get it wrong and not only will we slip towards the trap door, but more importantly in my view many will turn away from the club. I say it with love, but please Chris sort it out.

Wilder press conferences are a work of art. I'm just an appreciator of elite level unintentional comedy
That is one of the most comprehensive, impressive posts I've seen about anything on here, bravo.

I like Wilder and I want him to do well. He's important until we modernise the structure of the club (which, we're wasting time and not doing...)

But, he's showing an increasingly alarming lack of accountability. Yes, he wasn't backed and we don't have resources, yes what resource we did have was used on baffling ageing recruitment, but has to step up and show some greater self-awareness and accountability.

Chris won't sort it out because he can't

He isn’t anywhere near the manager he was in 16-20 and his transfer dealings are now a huge risk area for the club.

The ego he built up then, understandably, is now writing cheques his ability is incapable of cashing.

I haven’t heard the interview but has he said BBD did well against Derby?! He was ‘Shaun Miller at the end’ levels of bad where he was so shot his legs looked like he belonged to someone else. Maybe it was to protect BBD I don’t know, but maybe better to just not say anything rather than just a blatant mistruth.
Dont think so, I must have made that up lol. Not sure where I got that from yesterday. Losing my mind, supporting dem blades will do that to you though I suppose.

Must have been confused with him saying they played well vs Lincoln (which again he didnt do that much and first half was pretty poor again).

Time to start writing my passwords and pins down 😂😂.

You can easily reframe the recruitment so it doesn’t have to be painted as having the rug pulled from under him, but that narrative is a comfort blanket:

Brooks - was often interchanged with Chong. Chong is playing quite well and has a goal contribution every 178 mins. At Norwich Brooks has a goal contribution every 214 minutes.

Hamer - if you look at Donovan’s arrival as a not exactly one for one with Gus, but he does allow us to play more conventional wing play and he does add that maverick element and brings both pace to the side and defensive hard work that Gus didnt. I’m not saying he’s as influential yet but he does bring the excitement that Gus could bring.

O’Hare - we didn’t bring in a like for like. I’m not even going to pretend to know what impact 35 year old Ayew is expected to have. But one thing it does do, with flexibility, is allow both Peck and Arblaster to start if the Manager would change formation. We could even play Chong in the 10 and Seriki further forward.

BBD also in there and hasn't come off yet. But it’s still possible.

The point being, the notion that all our creativity went and therefore we are resigned to playing turgid, attritional football isn’t true. I do acknowledge that injuries to Chong, Burrows, Seriki and One were untimely but 3 of those are back so that doesn’t hold any water.

As alternatives, tell me these three line ups don’t provide some creativity, all within 12 players:

4-3-3
Cooper
Seriki Tanganga Kitching Burrows
Arblaster Phillips Peck
Chong Bamford Donovan

4-2-3-1
Cooper
Tanganga McGuinness Kitching Burrows
Peck Phillips
Seriki Chong Donovan
Bamford

3-4-2-1
Cooper
Tanganga McGuinness Kitching
Seriki Peck Phillips Burrows

The so called"adults" are demanding Wilder pick Donovan to start, because they know better.
Lets all eat shite all those flies cant be wrong.
No you"re welcome to your little clique, you carry on in your windowless bubble.
No one’s ’demanding’ anything. It’s a forum about Sheffield United, therefore discussions are going on about whether some players should be playing instead of others. Wilder seems a bit blinkered in his views on which players should play, so it’s being discussed.

We get that you like Wilder and that you want to protect him from all the internet baddies, but some balance to your posts might be useful.

Thread needed a musical interlude to brighten the mood?

It'll never work.

That helps a little but I just didn't get the post. Im probably being a bit thick, sorry. So you're right, it didn't work! 😂

Obviously I get he's saying that we're better together, but I'm guessing that's not a literal statement.

You didn't even mention the content 😂 It's not 'sticking up'. You just like arguing on the Internet.
The content is just an enormous paragraph mocking everything he said. Thats my point. You seem unable comprehend anyone not agreeing with you not being a troll. As I think has been shown repeatedly I'm not a troll at all.

Nobody's disputing your right to disagree. It's the tedious need to make every disagreement about the person rather than the point that's getting confused with having an argument.

You've done a massive paragraph mocking the manager. I've mocked you doing it as I think it's over top. Thats it.

You then called me a cuck in your first reply. Weird and also any need for that?

Very fair comment from someone who's on Wilder's side.
I've reached my breaking point with him , but that doesn't stop me applauding your honesty in accepting he could do better.
If he could only admit responsibility (even to himself) I would love him to prove me wrong.
I think the difference between you & I is only that you see his resurgence as still possible whereas I don't.
But both of us wish only the best for the club and hate to witness it's decline.

Because your reply was about me writing a long post, not about the content 🤷‍♂️ Every interaction you have is about the poster. So I felt like responding in kind this time

Whilst I get what you mean.
I'm not so sure we can shrug off losing Hamer, Brooks and O'Hare personally.
3 key players from last season. And 45 of our 66 goals last season were goal contributions by the 3 above.

Whilst I can see your argument about Chong vs Brooks. My eye's tell me that Chong isn't as effective really. That's not to say I don't think he can play a part or put in good performances and he has done. But Brooks ended up maintaining that spot for the most part last season. And of course Chong seems to suffer with injures more so availability is down.

Donovan on the other hand I think looks a prospect and I can see him eventually progressing further than Brooks in his career.
He looks more direct, more pace and in a way more of constant threat at times. But we ain't seen him loads to see if that can be consistent. I'd rather we explore that though!
To compare Donovan to Hamer is a tricky one. Yes Donovan is an out an out winger but Hamer on form was the best attacking mid in the division. Defence splitting passes, danger from free kicks and goals from in and out of the area.

O'Hare we miss for his press and constant running. O'Hare had knack of timing his runs quite well too for goals. Ayew as a kind of replacement is really a striker can't say that we have replaced that press.

As for BBD, I just don't think we should keep playing him as totally a winger. He's been as an attacking force very inneffective.
He had his best stint for us up top back in the Prem. Now that we have Donovan and Chong (One before injury too) and potentially Burrows who could play LM. Why not try him off Bamford at times?

I do like the look of your line ups though. I'm not entirely sure about Seriki as a winger weirdly. I've seen it touted but would it work?

What on earth does Wilder mean by this?

He should have been pressed on it. It’s absolute nonsense. But it’s sadly becoming par for the course.
I assume he's talking about our summer window, which was particularly poor compared to most other teams. I don't think anyone else sold a key player last minute without replacing them, for example.

That's brave stuff from Adam Oxley - more incisive than anything I've heard previously.
So like a cunt , Wilder says a sarcastic "No I want to go backwards & negative"
What he doesn't realise ,
Is that many a true word in cheap sarcasm.
So you think he wants us to be negative? 😂
Wilder really thinks BBD deserves his place ?
Course he doesn't - but he's playing his old mate ahead of an electric PL loanee and he resets being challenged on it.
I've absolutely no time for Wilder now , the arrogant man living on his long-ago glory.
His tendrils need digging out of every dark corner of my club.
He should listen back to himself and cringe.
A lot of posters should read back what they've written and cringe, but they never do.
