Hardest View From since the L1 days this due to lack of comments. Are they the smallest club we've played in the league for 10 years?

As I'm born and bred in Lincolnshire I was able to read that clearly.

I thought you made them all up anyway.

'bring on pace and power ' if only we could

Feeling confident about tomorrow , we're a better team with better players than many on here acknowledge.
Lincoln have a punchers chance of course but its time to unleash the real sufc this season .

This is our first league fixture against Lincoln since 1983-4.

Since then, we have beaten them 6-2 over 2 legs in the league cup in 2000-1 and lost on pens to them at the Lane in a standard pathetic league cup showing 3 seasons ago after a 0-0 draw.

In 1983-4 we won 2-0 at Lincoln thanks to a King Keith brace, one a beautiful free kick, and drew 0-0 at home in a dour contest. We also played them in the 2nd round of the FA Cup, drawing 0-0 at Sincil Bank and winning 1-0 at home with a last minute back header by Paul Stancliffe from a corner. A young John Fashanu was in the Lincoln team I remember.

Their most recent, and only, victory in the league at the Lane was a 1-0 win at the end of the forgettable 1982-3 season. Lincoln came close to promotion to the second tier two years running, but it took them 40 years to actually do it.

Lincoln are almost perfectly set up to beat us at the Lane. Good solid defence, tall, fit side, shoot well and counter attack well. Their away defensive record is excellent (although it's a small sample size).

It could get ugly.
Despite being, what, 40 miles away they must be one of the clubs we have played least in our near 140 years?

Port Vale play in a Town called Shithole.
Port Vale actually exists in a worm hole you travel through just south of Keele Services on the M6 where you are transported back to mid 1800 hundreds where the inhabitants of unimaginably cruel pottery factories are allowed out to hurl seating / bricks and any other items at confused away fans before scurrying back to underground caves . I have never been more relieved to back Sandbatch services and buy a Greg’s sausage bean and cheese pasty !

Bert will have to avoid his Gentleman's Club for a while if this goes wrong.

I keep saying that any team that's organised and fit will beat us, sadly from what I've seen, that's Lincoln City.

I hope I'm wrong but I think you'll be frequenting Bellhouse Road Working Mens Club, supping Stones best bitter for the foreseeable future.

*I know, the club's not a club anymore and real Stones beer is also dead. Sad times we live in 😭

....as their players breath oxygen and are covered in skin

You know you can actually see Lincoln Cathedral from Sheffield? If you go up to Ringinglow on a clear day with a pair of binoculars… Also Humber Bridge and York Minister,

Now you may be thinking “ whats that got to do with football?” and the answer is ……absolutely nothing

You may also be thinking “those are pretty boring facts.”… and you would be absolutely correct…

But…. I think I can safely guarantee you it’s all a lot more interesting and entertaining than anything we are likely to witness tomorrow during the 90 minutes
I read about this so I went with camera to Ringinglow but sadly couldn’t see it….however someone said you can see York Minster from the top of Grenoside, and guess what?they were right👍
Approx 40 miles as the crow flies, and its poor quality cos I’ve had to zoom the shit out of it,but you can just make out the outline
The boring facts thread😉😆

Just looked at their team. Names I recognised included Adam Reach, Tendayi Darikwa, Sonny Bradley, Cheio Ogbene, Tom Bayliss. The first 3 a combined age of 102.

I've always wanted to go out on a clear day and do this. How powerful is this camera?
