Fair point but that's also their achievements as a club since they started - ours 4 FA cup wins, 1 top tier league title and 55 seasons in the top flight, so yeah they are small time compared to us. Without wanting to sound too much like the other lot, we were getting higher crowds in the 4th division than Cov in the top flight.
I'm afraid the whole thread sounds like the other lot - I didn't attend either the 1899 or the 1901 FA Cup finals so they don't mean much to me, although our winner in the 1925 final was a special moment.Unfortunately most of my blades memories are from the late 70's onwards so I'm still waiting on the return of our glory days. Our gates over the last 3 or 4 years are extraordinary and quite frankly Coventry's aren't but I'm not impressed by the " look how great our gates are" tone of this thread, hence my cynical post earlier.

Err..not sure how to tell you this but Sheffield United have spent 102 years in the top 2 divisions compared to City's 63. There is about a 1,000 difference over time in favour of Sheffield United. Sheffield United have always be an established top 2 league club since existence, we have only been since 1968. Therefore you currently have better support but over time, all things considered, we do.
I have no idea about over time. Over my lifetime, Coventy' s support is fucking rubbish.

No we're playing a team that have consistently been much better than us throughout the season and we have terrible home form.
This is my lowest point as a blade
Cant remember being less excited about a game
Going to watch it on sky which should be a thrill for me as i cant make it to the lane this season due to work commitments and im just fully expecting us to play shit and give away a couple of soft goals that will result in some item of furniture or appliance in my house needing replacing and im going to have to spend the rest of the day trying to get back into the good books with the missus

The most optimistim i can drum up is that we can beat anyone on our day but then i remember that the players dont have any heart and are probably still sulking about not being in some chavvy nightspot till the early hours of this morning raucosly comparing tattoos and beards and my heart sinks

I see you have got up early to do the chores before the match starts;)

I guess I could ask where's the 40,000 (?) who turned at Wembley for your FA Cup semi final?

Why will 9,000+ Sheffield United fans pay £50 to go to Old Trafford for a cup game but only 1,400 paid £20 to go to Walsall?

The FA Cup semi final and a trip to Old Trafford are clearly bigger than any other game and are games you can't miss - just like the Gillingham game was.

It's hardly that hard to understand.
If we took 9,000 to away games in League One there'd be no room for the home support...

There's respecting the oposition which I always do..

...then there is accepting defeat before we kick off at home against a team In the same division as us.

My FFS is aimed at those who who are already writing is off tomorrow and the Trainee Swan, Lane and Kay's so happy to bet on their own team to loose.

So I was right again then...

I Feel sorry for all those Quislings who saw their bets against their own team go south....

Oh hang on a minute no I'm not.

You're kidding, right? The flukiest win this century, Adkins rides home on Black Bess and you start crowing because you don't think people should have been pessimistic going into the game? There are times when you can say 'I told you so' but I'm not sure this is one of them.
