Possible Summer Targets

I see QPR may have to offload a couple of players because of the FFP ruling. Could you see us being interested in anyone there?

Not a prolific goalscorer but I see Conor Washington being one who Wilder may like. Luke Freeman would be nice but even still, he'd be costly.

As previously mentioned, Idrissa Sylla. All round centre forward capable of scoring 15+ in this league. In the absence of many other good striker options I think he's a decent shout.

Massimo Luongo would be a nice luxury to have in midfield but I think he'd be out of our range.

Could be to do with an incoming or outgoing, or neither....

But on his twitter bio, he has a link to his list of clients. Ricky Holmes & Norrington-Davies being amongst them.

**Just seen Callum Elder is also a client, he would be a good shout as an option for LWB to compete with Stevens. Done well at Wigan this year I believe.

I saw Elder play for them at Bury a couple of months back. Awkward pitch but he didn't impress me at all. Expected more. Didn't look like any sort of athlete. Don't think he'd be an upgrade on Lafferty let alone Stevens.

Can't say I recall seeing him play so that doesn't sound good. There was a report I saw the other day saying Wigan want him back this summer but there is interest from other championship sides now.

Maybe I saw him on a bad day then, but physically and technically he didn't look any better than what we've got.

Jay Dasilva is the most impressive L1 left back I've seen. Excellent footballer. Could maybe get him on loan from Chelsea.

I like the thought of Antonee Robinson on a permanent deal though, or at least a loan. He may be more realistic.

Wasn't too keen on Dasilva in the 2nd leg of the playoffs but he has seemingly impressed in LG1 this year too.

Robinson is a good shout, he was the one who assisted Madine's goal earlier in the season wasn't he?

Take your pick: https://neweraglobalsports.com/representation/all

But they don't update their site very often... still shows both Murphy brothers as playing for Norwich and Holmes for Charlton

He’s Wilders agent

Bit of a dream but if we are looking forward with some cash, very good championship striker, and the club might want to offload: Jordan Hugill. Probably completely unrealistic however doubt he's Manuel Pellegrini's type of player and also he's already 3rd in the pecking order. Just a thought.

he caused us all sort of problems at their place due to his physicality. But they payed £10m for him which was massively overpriced.

I'd like Hugill.

But no matter how wrong these clubs get it with the fees they pay, they're never willing to take much of a loss. There's no way we'd spend the likely £7-8m minimum they'd want for him. That would leave a loan but I'd expect a hefty fee and a big wage contribution there too.

There really aren't many outstanding options when it comes to strikers with a physical presence.

If McBurnie and Gallagher aren't possible, who's left?

Could Matt Smith and Leonardo Ulloa be possible?

I'm not hugely keen on Smith but he's dominant in the air, a handful and will get into double figures. QPR may have to sell players.

Ulloa is a quality player at Championship level and if he doesn't go to Brighton permanently maybe we could loan him from Leicester. Wouldn't be an easy one to do though.

Kyle Bartley - Apparently Rangers think they can get him for £2.5m. If so, and with our increased budget in mind maybe this could be possible, although I'd still expect his wages to be high. He'd be a top quality signing for us and an excellent fit for what we want.

Dominic Solanke
- Rangers also linked with a move for him. If he's available on loan that would be another top quality signing. On very high wages though I'd imagine.

There's no way we'd get Solanke. He only went to Liverpool because Chelsea wouldn't pay his stupid wage demands (and we're talking north of 50k allegedly).

Overall I'd like one goalkeeper, one left wing back and two people who can play in the wide positions in a three up top, (or one with two supporting, depending on how you square it). One of these wide players must be able to play in last year's two up top system off Clarke or another physical striker. I want the tactical flexibility to play two or three up front.I'd also like a new player to play the central position in the back three. Stearman's a good player but his strength is not reading the game.We need back up anyway, that's a given.
I'd go for Harry Wilson at Liverpool, and play Brooks and Wilson behind a single striker (Clarke or a new signing). The kid at Hibs looks an interesting prospect for the other striker option. I've just had a nosy on their forum - they're in ruins at the prospect at not getting him back next season.

Keifer Moore?

Few more names here, based on our rumoured increased budget and also on our seemingly decent relationship with Chelsea.

Phil Jagielka - If he's released, could now be the time to sign him? Increasing our budget could possibly enable it. At Championship level he'd boss it in the middle of a back 3.

Ritchie De Laet - Experienced, versatile and a good athlete. Would be ideal for RCB but could play anywhere in a back 3. Has been on loan at Royal Antwerp from Villa. Has one year left there and they'll surely let him go.

Tomas Kalas - A bit like a younger version of De Laet. Very quick, plays CB and RB comfortably so would be a superb fit for RCB. Would have to be a loan though and would still be hard to sign, as I think Fulham will probably want to keep him regardless.

Fikayo Tomori - Very athletic young CB at Chelsea. Decent on the ball. Would play RCB for us. Had a bit of a mixed spell at Hull last season.

Michael Hector - Another Chelsea CB who was at Hull. He's big, decent on the ball and can play in midfield too. 25 years old.

Ben Osborn - Versatile left footed Forest midfielder. Can play central or wide, including LWB. I like the look of him, energetic and tidy on the ball. If Forest need to sell players maybe it could be possible to get him.

Josh Onomah - Athletic, versatile midfielder with decent skill and forward drive. Has been at Villa on loan from Spurs.

Ikechi Anya - Versatile wide player. Derby might have a bit of a clear out, he'd be one of the first to go. He's got ability, maybe needs a new start. Would be a good option for us and cover the same positions as Ben Marshall.

Marcus Maddison
- Seems like a bit of a twat, but is an exciting attacking midfielder with quite a unique technique and style, and an excellent left foot. One we could consider if we have a decent budget, and Barry Fry has indicated that they won't get that much for him. Maybe he has a release clause. Could become very valuable after a good season in the Championship.

Harry Wilson
- Attacking midfielder who did very well for Hull on loan from Liverpool. He's been mentioned a few times on here, would be a quality loan. Might be more realistic for us now.

Tammy Abraham
- "We need a Tammy Abrahams type signing..." Well how about the man himself? He didn't do much in the PL for Swansea last season, so maybe Chelsea will want to send him to the Championship to score 20+ goals again? They'd trust us to look after him. Would be a hell of a signing.

Depending on how much money they have, I wouldn't be surprised to see Abraham being part of their first team squad. He's a goalscorer and that's what they're missing. He requires good service though and won't play upfront on his own.

Does anyone think shane long would be a good and gettable target

Good striker quick and strong be good in the championship. Always finds himself on the bench at Southampton but not sure if another prem team may fancy him

How much do we think the budget has been upped by? 25%, 50%? I'd be amazed if we spent anything over £3m on a transfer fee or paid over £20k a week on wages for 1 player.

Decent shout that. Sure I have read before Wilder is a fan too but our budget last year wasn't enough to get him in on a loan deal.

Keifer Moore?

Very good, dominant target man and a handful for defenders but is he technically good enough, will he score enough?

Long is probably an example of one to add to the list of possibles if we have a significantly increased budget. It seems likely we'd try to sign him.
