Possible Summer Targets

Don’t see Posh getting anywhere close to a million unless there is a queue for the lad.

Don’t they have a policy of listing players who won’t sign a contract so would mean he’s into the last 12 months

He signed a new contract last summer with the agreement that he could leave if they didn’t get promoted. Local rag down here have said Forest are after him and £2m has been quoted...

Bargain at £2million...mind you, he’d have been a bigger bargain for free last close season

Yeah that does seem low for Posh, they always seem to get good fees for their players!

They’ve said they class Marriott as better than Assombalonga though and would want more than they sold him for...

If Iorfa could be molded more into a CB he would be perfect for the RCB position, 6ft 4in and very quick - but he's primarily more of a RB.

I've seen him play both, and I don't think he has the ability/quality going forward for RB, let alone RWB - If we signed him, it'd be for the RCB role, as you pointed out.

I would prefer Batth of the 2 though: would be an improvement on Stearman for me.

With the PL relegation spots decided it looks like we can forget about Ollie McBurnie, but Sam Gallagher could now be available. It just depends on whether Southampton are willing to loan him out again.

David McGoldrick is on a free and would be a good signing for us. Ipswich aren't exactly loaded either so I'd guess he wouldnt be on mega bucks.

I'd also like to look at Anthony Pilkington. Seeing as he didn't feature much this season at Cardiff it'd be pretty safe to assume that he's available for transfer now they've gone up.

Both can play as a winger and secondary striker so offer versatility for us. Out of what's been suggested this role I'd still prefer Ameobi but they'd both be great experienced alternatives.

Can’t see us paying the £1.2m that Birmingham apparently paid, just to get him on loan

I know it's probably a bit out of our reach and lots of prem clubs are sniffing around but I've just read that Joel Asoro could be available for £1.5m if he rejects Sunderland's contract offer.

Whoever picks him up for that much would have a reyt fucking bargain on their hands.

It would be a great move for us and Gallagher I feel. Will depend on his loan fee I would imagine.

Not for me: we're trying to rejuvenate an aging strike force rather than add to it.

It would be. We'd just have to hope Southampton prioritise that ahead of a petty loan fee.

It's not just the loan fee. Gallagher actually wanted more money to go on loan so Birmingham ended up paying him an extra £10k per week.

Had a quick look through Premiership and Championship squads to see what players might be available to us. Thoughts?

That list of strikers offers hope that there are gems out there

The keepers look good any of them.

Left backs look good, would include Callum Elder Who was on loan at Wigan.

Centre backs look good apart from Beevers.

Attacking midfielders only Liam Kelly but cannot see us having any chance.

Strikers there’s loads but would include thag Asoro from Sunderland.

Duane Holmes has impressed me in these play off games, playing a more central role than he has previously. There are similarities with Duffy. He's a sharp, intelligent player with good work rate and can play all across attacking midfield. Quick over short distances and runs with the ball well. Looks like he's out of contract too. Only 23 years old, he's worth considering.

Sam Baldock anyone?

He can keep George company

Been thinking exactly the same thing after watching tonight's game.

Good shout. I think I also read somewhere a while ago that the American national team have been monitoring his progress. If he wants any sort of international recognition he could do worse than look at how CCV broke into the squad during his stint here.

Sam Baldock is one I've been suggesting for a while, think he ticks a lot of boxes - only cost Brighton £2.5m, doesn't seem to figure in their future plans, we have the George factor - permanent might be stretching it, but loan surly would be achievable. Lets see what CW has up his sleeve.

I'd like us to have a go for Ollie McBurnie from Swansea (if they're willing to let him go). On loan at Dingles last season.

Also perhaps Kieffer Moore at Dingles too. Looked a decent centre forward when I saw him play.

No chance on McBurnie. Would be too expensive, plus surly Swansea will want him for next season themselves.

78 get the left backs and attacking midfielders off the list as with our limited resources we don't need to spend any in those areas.

I'd have Blackman back in a heartbeat and with Gregory out of contract I can see him coming in. I'm worried about his age though and would prefer a younger more mobile big man. Baldock is a good shout as is Hughill.

One request don't sign a Manure youngster on loan as they are a complete waste of time and money !

Millwall have activated an option to extend Lee Gregory's contract according to Sky Sports. Doesn't say how long the new contract is.
