Our walking football tactics and failure to move it forwards quicker is our downfall. Deserved nowt from that performance but I’ll take it. Problem is we’ll do it again next week.

How many times can we give the ball back to the opposition before they get the better of us. Burrows and throwing bah humbug!
They had one on the other side literally a minute or two before, clearly a foul throw, and nothing given!

I’ve been in favour of Chris returning but I have to say that match was so badly managed and we got away with it.

Soumaré, Burrows and Cannon wanted hooking at half time.

Seriki was having a terrible time. I can’t believe he kept him on for so long.

Got a result there despite the manager and a number of the players.

Maybe it’s the lucky result that starts a run. I’d be gutted if I was Pompey though.
Soumare, Burrows and Cannon shouldn't have started.
I don't want to see Soumare even in the squad now until the end of the season

I mean we’ve just ground a win out while not playing great and picked up a good point at Millwall in the one before that?
Tbf yes we were actually good at Millwall, but there’s been so many of those crap away performances like today that we usually end up losing. We seem to worry about the opposition rather than let them worry about us.

I don’t disagree with you but in the context of people banging on about playoffs then we need to improve away performances, or we’ll get found out like last season.

Great that they dug in and got the three points but looking at the numbers we were incredibly lucky.

We created our own luck to an extent by digging in when we were below par. Successful teams do that. We were also overdue a bit of good fortune. We’ve had an off day but got three points. A very positive day.

a very scrappy game. Portsmouth better in the 1st half. utd having great spells in 2nd half. shouldve finished 0-0. but we managed to take 1 of our chances at the end. but thats football

i would say for us charlton at home was the same. shouldve finished 0-0 but charlton scraped a goal in stoppage time

Will Wilder ever admit that he got it badly wrong with Cannon? His insistence in playing him is I believe the biggest reason we won’t progress further.

It was like a non league match.
With some non-league performances.
Watching Hoever’s attempted clearance late in the game was horrific for a supposed professional.
Only Bindon seemed to have any composure at all today.

Terrible performance but 3 points is all that matters!

Adding to that, Portsmouth deserve some credit. Their left side; Ebou Adam’s, Swanson and that winger Alli were very good.

A great result.

Pompey looked more up for it in the first half and their 27 was having our defence on toast on their left.

A more tenacious performance in the second half saw us through but if only Campbell had an ounce of O'Hare's determination to win the ball he might be half useful.

It’s been a really odd season so far. Today’s performance was like we saw so many times last season.

I think that we have actually looked a lot better going forwards this season (post Selles) than last, with much more attacking intent, we just don’t have as steady a defence.

Didn’t deserve three points today but that’s the way games go sometimes. We have lost games we really deserved to win so this goes some way to balancing it out.

It’s mental to see that we are 6 points off the play offs. I think we will fall short but would love us to bag that last place.
