Hi,

I'm the pre-match reporter for the Port Vale Fans Forum One Vale Fan.

Part of my role is to contact fans of our forthcoming opponents to ask them a few questions and gain their views on the upcoming fixture between our sides in order to produce a report which we release on the site a couple of days prior to the game.

I wondered if up to three of you have a few minutes and would be prepared to share a few views if you would kindly offer your feelings on the game by answering the following few questions;
1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan?
2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season)?
3. Where you think you will finish in terms of league position?
4. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)?
5. What are your thoughts on your manager?
6. What are your thoughts on your board & off field club activities?
7. Any views on the current Port Vale team & specific players?
8. Did you attend the reverse fixture earlier this season? If so what were your thoughts on the game?
9. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams?
10. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides)?

Please also feel free to include any other information you feel worthy and I will knock it into a report as per the example below regarding contribution from Plymouth fans from our game with them;

To enable me to produce this in good time I need a reply by Wednesdayand the report should appear on the website a day or two before our fixture.

Please also let me know if you would like me to include your name on the article.

Many thanks for your potential support in this matter.

Best Regards,

1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan?

Lifelong practicing masochist for 55 years. I have the stripes to show for it. Hobbies are riding the Big Dipper at the fairground and watching the Blades.

2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season)?

"Houston we have a problem. Engine failure and Captain Bligh is locked in his cabin. Beam me up Scotty."

3. Where you think you will finish in terms of league position?

God alone knows but if we make the play-offs we won't get anywhere, never do. League 1 next season. Again. Not many optimists left after this month's performances.

4. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)?

Anyone over 6 foot 1 inch.

5. What are your thoughts on your manager?

Largely unprintable at the moment but it not his fault is it? Never is.

6. What are your thoughts on your board & off field club activities?

Board has improved - no complaints really for the first time in living memory. Suddenly next season's strip has become the highlight of conversation - nothing to do with Miserable March's disappointments after Fabulous February of course.

7. Any views on the current Port Vale team & specific players?

Not really just practice your set pieces because we obviously don't.

8. Did you attend the reverse fixture earlier this season? If so what were your thoughts on the game?

No but I watched it on BladesPlayer - one of the sendings off this season that has cost us points and promotion.

9. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams?

Michael Brown. We could do with him as he was in his prime now.

10. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides)?

I'll be amazed if we keep a clean sheet and you don't score first. The way we are playing I expect you to get at least a point.I just hope we aren't gutless and the crowd keep behind the team - though I expect Beautiful Downtown Bramall Lane will be alive with complaints and they will be on the players backs if/when we go behind. We will have to show some character to win - something that has been lacking.

YOU SEEM TO BE SEEKING INSIDE INFORMATION TO HELP YOU BEAT US !! NOT ON YA NELLIE !:):);):p

1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan?
Started in the 60's. Watched us decline to unbelievable lows at the end of the 70's. Saw us rise like a Phoenix (a very slow one) through the 90's. Can't quite believe I'm still here watching us repeat the late 70's having written the book on how not to go about things.
Season Ticket holder from teens to Blackwell took my faith in all things football and life away. If ever it looks like your going to appoint him as manger set fire to the ground.
2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season)?
I actually thought the summer was poor and only expected a play-off challenge. Got excited in Jan. Mis-placed it seems.
3. Where you think you will finish in terms of league position?
Between 5 and 12.
4. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)?
He'll probably be sat on the bench, might show up, might not.
5. What are your thoughts on your manager?
Started slowly, found his feet and was great, lost his way, can't seem to find it again.
6. What are your thoughts on your board & off field club activities?
Redeemed themselves in January. Too little too late?
7. Any views on the current Port Vale team & specific players?
Michael Brown, what a 02/03 season he had. Has he done owt since?
8. Did you attend the reverse fixture earlier this season? If so what were your thoughts on the game?
No
9. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams?
I remember the piggy cunt Bright missing one of the easiest ever chances at the Lane end many moons ago.
10. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides)?
0-0 or 0-0 or 0-0.

Thanks Cyprus and Grecian, I will use you replies to create as an article which should appear on our site tonight / tomorrow morning.

Enjoy the three points we will no doubt gift you :(

We used to play in red and white in the 1800's and then learned the error of our ways as the lardies down the road thought it made them look thinner!

You could always change to blue stripes instead of red, far more eye catching blue is! ;)

Make sure you include Grecian's number 9 ;)

Or are you likely to throw a Vale of secrecy over that one?
