Hi,

I'm the pre-match reporter for the Port Vale Fans Forum One Vale Fan.

Part of my role is to contact fans of our forthcoming opponents to ask them a few questions and gain their views on the upcoming fixture between our sides in order to produce a report which we release on the site a couple of days prior to the game.

I wondered if you have a few minutes and would be prepared to share a few views if you would kindly offer your feelings on the game by answering the following few questions;

1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan?

2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season)?

3. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)?

4. What are your thoughts on your manager?

5. What are your thoughts on your board & off field club activities?

6. Any views on Port Vale & specific players?

7. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams (Micky Adams, Kingsley James, Rob Kozluk, Rob Page etc.)?

8. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides)?

Please also feel free to include any other information you feel worthy and I will knock it into a report as per the example below regarding contribution from Plymouth fans from our game with them;
http://www.onevalefan.co.uk/site/opposing-views-plymouth/

To enable me to produce this in good time I need a reply by Monday 21st April and the report should appear on the website a day or two before our fixture.

Please also let me know if you would like me to include your name on the article.

Many thanks for your potential support in this matter.

Best Regards,

REP

Does that bloke still play for you that got away with rape?????
We got the shitty end of the stick with that outcome.

1. Been going just over 41 years. That's as personal as your getting!
2. Current (league form) is patchy, mainly because we have rested players.
3. Jamie Murphy, You will need at least 3 right backs.
4. I have to admit I was not too exited by his appointment but the result speaks volumes. Potentially the best for a long time.
5. We seem (finally) to be getting it right. More communication and "potentially" a bit of investment. Time will tell. The board have financed very decent loan signings this season which will not have come cheap.
6. You have done really well this season and have surprised me. (Do not know too much about any player- sorry)
7. Adams had a pretty torrid time of it here but he did arrive when we were on the wane. Felt for him.
Kozzie - what can you say? very popular guy whos antics were legendary. Always gave 100%, like him.
8. Score prediction? Vale 1- Blades 7. (Brayford 3, Howard 2, Khan 2).... only joking! - no idea TBH, we may have a full team out or 5 or 6 kids in by then.

Anyway, more importantly, which pubs should we head for?.

1. Not residing in Sheffield anymore but supported the Blades pretty much ever since I can remember and still get to a good amount of games (will be at Vale Park next Friday).

2. Still on a high from the cup run, a few dodgy recent results against the likes of Wolves and Brentford but generally since the start of February we've been as solid as it gets really.

3. I'd like to think most people are aware of the talents Harry Maguire by now, also Jamie Murphy has seen one of the most remarkable upturns in form that I've ever seen. As the above poster said you're going to have to stick atleast 3 men on him to have any chance of stopping him down the wing.

4. Results wise he has been excellent. For me there's still a few doubts over his long term plans for our style of football, but generally speaking he's by some distance the best we've had since Warnock left in 2007.

5. After years of mismanagement we finally appear to be going places. With the arrival of HRH we're a lot more financially secure than under the sole ownership of Kevin McCabe and (hopefully) no longer need to sell prized assets like Maguire to survive.

6. You've pleasantly surprised me this year. To be honest I've never really rated Adams and thought that you'd struggle after getting promoted but fair play to him he's got you to the fringes of the play-offs on what I'd imagine is one of the smallest budgets in the division.

7. Adams really struggled here and did play a part in our relegation but in his defence the rot had already well and truly set in by the time he arrived. He made some questionable transfers both in and out (swapping Leon Britton and Jamie Ward for Michael Doyle and Marcus Bent wasn't the best of deals) and some of the football we played was nothing short of diabolical, but you got the feeling he tried his best; unfortunately it just wasn't good enough. Kozzie was brilliant and a contender for my favourite Blade of all time. Real class act both on and off the pitch.

8. I'll go 1-1, after Peterborough's win over Shrewsbury on Monday we'll be resigned to missing out on the play-offs and play a few kids. A second half Ryan Flynn goal will cancel out an early Jennison Myrie-Williams screamer.

Telling you fuck all !
Think you're Micky Adams !!
All you need to know is we will beat you by a couple of goals and you won't score !
End of.

I'm much better looking than him and he's from Yorkshire too, thats almost an insult! ;)

So basically what you could have said in less words was 2-0???

Don't worry about us. Worry about Steve Evans because he may eat you on Monday if you get too close.

Him and Micky love each other to death!

We have been a bit of a bogey side for them doing the double over them last season and beating them 2-0 at home this season but those games were largely influenced by ex-Miller Pope who is now sadly out probably for the rest of the season.

We only had 5 on the bench on Saturday before Pope's injury so by the time we come to play you I might be in goal or at right back!!

Thanks Mack & Digger for your contributions, I will peice together an article, Murphy is nailed on to be MOTM if you give him as much of the ball as possible as our right back is our weak link at the moment.

In terms of those looking for a few beers pre or post match for away fans probably the best one to look out for is the Vine;
http://footballaway.co.uk/uk/away-friendly-pubs/vine-inn

The Bulls Head is also great but very much a home pub so if you are going don't wear colours and don't speak like Compo from Last of the Summer Wine or Boycott! :D

1. Tell us a bit about yourself & history as a fan?
Been a blade all my life, been a season ticket for many years and very very rarely miss a home game.
2. How are your team doing (current form and in relation to the expectation of fans at the start of the season)?
Expectations at the start of the season would have been top 6, but after the Weir disaster we have done great and could possibly reach our early goal.
3. Who should we watch out for (one or more danger player/s)?
The three attacking midfielders, Murphy, Flynn and Scougall
4. What are your thoughts on your manager?
Great chap, really changed our season around
5. What are your thoughts on your board & off field club activities?
All too quiet at the moment, expect some noise in the summer
6. Any views on Port Vale & specific players?
Thought you were a dirty side at the lane but hold no grudges against your team
7. Any views & memories of players / managers that have been involved with both teams (Micky Adams, Kingsley James, Rob Kozluk, Rob Page etc.)?
Adams didn't cut it for us when he managed us, but did give Maguire and Long a run in the team which I'm very appreciative off
8. A score prediction (and potential scorers for both sides)?
1-2 to the blades, Coady 1, Baxter 1 - random Vale player 1

I have a question. We loaned out a severely disappointing signing to you in Florent Cuvelier. In the tiny space of time he was playing for you this season did you see any talent there? We're still yet to see anything sadly.

We were all very excited about the prospect of Flo signing however he only lasted around 20 minutes and didn't shine in that on a poor pitch. Still if you are letting him go on a free we will snap your hands off when you have rehabilitated him! :D
