Well it's Tuesday and that only means one thing, a poll.

Important to distinguish between short term and long term aspiration.

When I say aspiration, I don't mean what you would be happy with in the next few years given our current circumstances as clearly we would all be perfectly happy just to stay up next year. What I mean is your ultimate aspiration for a club of our size in the long run i.e the circumstances whereby you will be most content as a Blade and will not be bothered about greater success.

Trying to score shit loads of goals. Everything else is just window drssing

Don’t think that in the next 15-20 years the structure of the league will chance much there is a glass celing of the top 6, that isn’t going to change.

I’d love to see us win a cup.... That would be great and I imagine bring more joy that just being established 7-16th in the Prem.

Just my opinion and if we continue this trajectory there is no reason it wouldn’t be possible. That said European football would be class (Sneak into 7 place or something.)

Prem title.
"We're not here just to make the numbers up!"
Chris Wilder eh?
;-)

Fantasy: PL win.

Aspirationally: Europa League football and/or a Cup win.

Realistically: Established PL club.

I think it has to be FA Cup winners and established Championship club.

I think short term prem is fine and yeah it would be nice to win it. I’d love this current squad or the evolved version of the squad to win it. But it’s extremely unlikely to do a Leicester. Or is it?

I honestly think that if we stay long term in the prem I’ll get bored and feel less connected with the club... or will I?

I don’t want to play in the champions league or europa league, but I’d like to see the Blades against european opposition...

I hate the top levels of football. But I’ve loved the last three years under wilder. The last few weeks has been the best time of my Blades life. And we didn’t win anything.

What I want is to keep the connection with the club that we have right now. The manager and players, for the first time in years seem to be the same as us fans. They’ve grafted their bollocks off and they’ve celebrated like they’ve won something big.

I looked at the Man City celebrations and it seemed a bit false. Sure they were singing and dancing, I noticed a Budweiser or two being held. I don’t want my club to win the league and then just tweet pics of their season highlights an hour later. I want them to get bladdered and sing a song they wrote...

Long way of saying it but long term I want what we have right now, wherever that takes us. Under the current regime and with the current crop, i have a sense that we can keep progressing.

Champions League.

But I really don't think success on the pitch is the most important thing.

Torn between champions league or a cup win. Winning the title probably always beyond us. Top four maybe one day but unlikely and it isn’t actually winning anything.

So it’s cup win for me and entry to Europe following on from that.

Tear the prem league a new bumhole...ans scare the crap out of them....

Beating every fucker like a rented mule.
Thrashing them like a ginger stepchild.
Hammering them like a blind cobbler’s thumb.
Whipping them like a masochist’s arse.
Etc.

...establishment of a blades dynasty...

wilder remains at the helm for the next five years, winning league cup, fa cup and winning uefa cup. leaves to take over as england manager only to be succeeded by, the now badged-up, billy sharp who gets club challenging for premier league title and european cup...! ah, that would be good.

You say you hate the top levels of football, is that because your team is not competing at the top level ?
I have had no interest in the Premier league for about a decade same with European games don't watch any of them. Over the last few weeks after knowing we will be in there next season I have found myself starting to take an interest by taking a peek at the tables to see who we should be looking to take points off next season. I even watched part of the re run of MOTD. Things start to look a bit different when your team is involved. I think we will bring a bit of the fun back to the Premier league and my God that is needed there are some right miserable bleeders in there. One or two need reminding it is an entertainment business.

Established Premier League Club

First Season - 17th or above. Decent home form with one or two surprising results. Away form acceptable and difficult to beat. Not to many beatings beyond 3-0, and only then whereby the gulf in class is evident.

Second and subsequent seasons - mid table and above with some canny purchases. One or two decent cup runs too, if not the final.

This is all assuming:

a. McCabe and HRH don't fuck our club before next season begins

b. We retain Wilder and Knill.

It’s a very good point. The honest answer is that I don’t know. I know that now it’s starting to sink in that I’ll miss the Championship because of all the good games we’ve had...

Win the EFL Championship every year, and decline promotion on financial grounds.

Money has totally fooked up English football for the foreseeable future. The current owners are currently spunking away the Premier League dividend on legal fees and shackling the best manager the club has ever had.

I have loved everything about this season (apart from a lack of Paul Coutts) from a football and fan perspective. Mostly good football, enough drama and tension, no playoffs. I can't see how next season can be that good, but at least I'll be less devastated when we lose. And I hope we can stay up and get established because I believe that's how we'll keep Wilder (ownership questions aside).

I hope Coutts, Cranie and Leon all go to the same club as experts in Wilder's system, so I don't have to keep up with too many teams. And I hope the Wendies come 7th for the foreseeable future.

It has to be prem title... Let's do a Blackburn or Leicester

It's 21 years between those titles (last which was 2016) which means Blades will be PL Champions 2037... you heard it here first

The poll didn't really allow me to express my opinion properly. I picked the 'Europa League' option, meaning that 10-15 years from now. I'd like to see us as an established Premier League side, aiming to win a cup and ultimately to qualify for Europe via the League.

I see no reason why we can't do that when you look at the shitty little teams that have been finishing 8th to 16th in recent years and regarding Europe, even Fulham had a crack at that.

I'm not saying we'll achieve any of it, I'm not saying we should be in Europe every week and realistically, we'll probably have a relegation and promotion or two more to come in the coming years. But as an aspiration, a goal - I think it's pretty reasonable. I can't see us ever being big enough for top 6, even as a one off, and I'd be disappointed if we haven't left the third tier behind for at least a generation.

Whether you like the Premier League or not, and I despise a great deal about it, anyone who doesn’t want our professional football club to be as close to the top of the football pyramid as it possibly can (and that, unless we migrate to another country, means the Premier) really ought to follow a Sunday League team.

Love us to be an established PL club but also I’d love to see us win The Cup more than anything.

Always aim high. Always strive to be number one. Always give it your best shot

With a certain Chris Wilder

Who knows, anything is possible
