I'm just trying to make a simple and personal observation.
Last year at this time Iwas not looking forward to the season ahead.

This year I am.

I think with the quality players Sir Chris has brought in has given me confidence that we will have a great season. If a takeover finally happens.
I will be very confident of winning promotion and competing a lot better in the premier league.

Anyone notice a big fashion in football now is the pressing as a team to win back possession.

Keeping possession is massively important in the PL as it takes the pressure off the defence. Last season our players were knackered, constantly chasing the ball but we weren’t organised enough to press as a team so it was wasted energy as we still couldn’t get the ball back. Then when we did have possession we didn’t have enough players comfortable on the ball, our midfield tactic was to give it to Norwood who would try the long pass upfield and we quickly lost possession again.

Wilder is well aware of this, so this season he’s got more players who are comfortable on the ball and has them all practising pressing and one touch passing.

If we go up next season we will be well drilled and much better prepared.

The problem is we are now in a wealth trap. We need promotion in 2 seasons or we are in financial trouble.

Also, we are in the championship equivalent of the premier league top six due to the parachute payments.

Lower end championship teams regard us with the same disdain as we do with man united.

As posted above, the Premier league of 2019 is a different animal today. Luton had everything going for them to stay up last season but they didn’t. Ipswich have now and a lot of people are tipping them to stay up. I don’t think it’s possible anymore, I’ll be watching them, and the other 2 promoted teams with interest.
