Was it a mistake to allow these two players to go to other clubs?

We could have done with Besic but he wasn't our player so it wasn't our decision.

Don't think Luke Freeman would be helping much to be honest. The biggest mistake regarding him is that Forest got the better end of the deal. If we'd had the money up front instead of in a few months when they inevitably make it permanent, we could have perhaps bought Besic from Everton.

I’d rather have Besic than Lundstram as a RM but as he’s not played there apart from the odd game I don’t see that he’d have displaced a £23m signing in Berge (irrespective of form).

Freeman is obviously not just a football decision. Maybe it will become apparent in the future what went wrong with him and Wilder.

Besic was decent, seemed to fit in well in the few games I saw him play for us.

Luke Freeman didn’t quite cut it from what I saw.

I like both, but neither had much to do with where we finished last year and neither would make much difference this year. Freeman isn't even starting for a shit Forest team.

At least L Freeman would have given us the option of an attacking midfielder.

Besic got stuck in with tackles and could do box-to-box. We have really missed that quality, especially with Fleck being out leaving us no option to play Mr Potato Head Lundstrum who wants to leave.

Letting Freeman leave without an attacking replacement was daft. Not sure exactly what we get out of that deal.

Freeman was a waste of money, Besic was a player we could have signed but we didn't need another midfielder at the time

We miss that bit of nastiness in midfield. Lundstram is not going to get a better contract with this club. He looks like he wants to stay injury free for January. Why stick with a player looking to stop and pass backwards when we need aggression.

Mistake to sign Freeman in first place
Mistake to not replace Duffy (I never considered Freeman to be a like for like replacement)
Mistake to let Freeman go without replacing him
Mistake to let Besic go
Mistake to not utilise our second PL loan
Mistake, given knowledge of Lundstram's contract situation, not to bring another CM in

Forest wont be making it permanent any time soon. Roys view from suggests he has been poor. They wont sign him if he is not even starting for them and making no impact for a team at the bottom.

Besic was never out player. I thought he did pretty well for us but not sure he's a long-term solution. Too erratic and worrying wild in the tackle.

Freeman is currently underperforming in a relegation threatened Championship side. Let's be honest, people miss the idea of Luke Freeman rather than Luke Freeman the player who looked out of his depth in the top flight.

Yes.. Really. liked Besic but he was always millimetres away from getting sent off with him mad tackles.. I've really no opinion on Freeman.

I've never really got the Besic love. Yeah he loved a slide tackle but can't actually remember him doing anything with the ball at his feet.

He’d drive forward with the ball mate almost every time he had it, not ronaldo style dribbling dont get me wrong but looked a very positive player with a touch of quality about him, I was hoping we bought him.

He's another who's been the recipient of the old notion of getting exponentially better due to simply not being here!! Read Calum Robinson, Luke Freeman, Dean Henderson.

The simple fact is, our entire existential persona was predicated on us being 100% at it. Like a harbour shark sniffing blood.

We're simply miles off that level of intensity so it wouldn't matter if we had Lionel Messi and Paolo Maldini and Gordon Banks in goal.

Dare I suggest that since all our players are now on big money and we have a plethora of £20m throughout the side, that raw hunger is simply not there anymore?
