Aren't Boxing Day matches supposed to be fairly local, or was that just in days gone by?
I've been to every Boxing Day match for going on 30 years and can't ever remember one this far away (in terms of travel time).
And so they should really, given the constraints with travel and the fact that Christmas is all about being with family, nobody should be travelling far on Boxing Day.Part of that is that we seem to have had a disproportionate amount of home games, at least since Wikipedia has decent records, I'm a bit lazy but it gets a bit fragmented once we get back to the Blackwell era and earlier.
Does still seem to be a thing to some extent. There's going to be some clubs that will be a ballache for most of the league (Swansea, I'm looking in your direction) but most of this year's fixtures seem to be arranged so there's no Blackpool/Bournemouth types of fixtures

I do always get the impression that the EFL at least try to do that, but this year we've been shafted a bit.
Anyone got a full list of Boxing Day fixtures since 1889? It would be interesting to see where Preston ranks.
Just checked and that is true...twice! Both well before my time but definitely further than Preston. We played Fulham away on a Boxing Day before
I'm hoping there will be a lovely blade woman to chat with
Edit: Woman
Yeah & I’m sure it was 11 am kick off in 1980We played Fulham away on a Boxing Day before
Silly question but have you tried doing it on the NHS website?Quick question...,My Dad’s not the best with tech. Tried to sort out a covid pass for him but he’s struggling. Apparently the new computer doesn’t use have an email spam box where he might find the code the NHS have sent to verify ID. If we can’t sort it what are the chances of not getting in? Anyone been to an event with 10k +. And been spot checked.
