Bert's biggest worry is that if in 5 years we win the champions league, we might not be able to repeat the feat the following year. It's giving Bert panic attacks thinking about it.

Jonathan Trott has just retired from international cricket with "situational anxiety".

George thinks that both he and Bert should keep a note of this ailment as a suitable excuse.

Bournemouth might do it, mind.

We didn't lose 33 games in the third division, and this is some positive measure? Lots of these weren't lack lustre?

For the sake of sanity, can you confirm that you are taking the piss here?

UTB

no , we have lost 13 yes theres been some drab draws too
but what are you expecting

Chelseas won the title have they given 35 enthralling exciting displays
hell no

they spent roughly 300 times more than we have and they cant produce entertainment every game
what fucking chance have we got

and before you say we arent chelseas or man ut or liverpool no we arent but the principles the same
theres preston , probably given a lot more regular enterrtaining performances this season
but they gave 1 too many indifferent ones on sunday

but they have got as far as we have now , a 1 in 4 chance of going up

just to prove that we havent been as bad as people think the last time we went up from this division in second place we lost 12 games , we have lost 13 this time

so have we really been that bad , its a perception offered by people who think this is something new losing games in this division , but its never a cake walk for whoever comes into it

6 Preston North End 46 19 15 12 79 60 +19 72
7 Brentford 46 18 14 14 66 61 +5 68

we went to wolve and had a chance of taking the title if we won our last 2 , but blew it after leading 2-1 to draw 2-2
but no one really cared we went up

thats how it should be , if we go up who cares how aesthetically pleasing it was

Silly...Provocative...immature!!!????......from a man who tells me to 'fuck off'
You're as thick as mince!
Wrong again mate - really wrong on that count, trust me.

Fact is you are like many on here who share the same opinion, namely, "It's my way (or my view) or the high way" and in your eyes that 'high way' always always ends at Hillsborough, Sheffield S6?

Little or no desire to "go and watch the Wendys" thanks. Happy where I am and for the record I've been a supporter for 50 odd years and in that time I have watched them home and away through the good stuff and not so good stuff. I have never ever booed the team and never would. Neither have any of those around me. There were a couple of piss heads this year at Crawley trying their best but they were flat out and it was insignificant.

Obvious difference between you and I (I suspect there will be many more too) is that I recognise that other folk on here (and the 20 0dd thousand who pay their money at the Lane every week) have the right to express their opinion - even if it is a moaning. They have the freedom to do that without all the shit about "single cells", "crayon drawers", "knuckles scraping on the ground" or worse still "you must be a Wendy", or "FO to S6".

I might have overacted initially and for that I apologise but quite frankly, you and I know that your thread was intended to be provocative so well done. As for me, it worked.

ps. I did like the reference to "tool" and "thick as mince" though. That was really special x

Kind regards

Dr Long...on the contrary I think we have a lot in common.........we both want the blades to get promoted.
Oh and this....Dr @The Lane OBE, VC, Congressional Medal of honour and 1000 Nectar points

I reckon it will be more entertaining reading the stuff posted on here post match than the actual game..lol
I just lost interest this past couple of seasons..fed up of feeling let down by our rapid decline ...
a blessing in disguise my three lads all chose to play rugby league. I'll watch the game on sky with the option of switching channels if we are as bad as some make out lol.
how anyone can question our support is beyond me? You die hards deserve so much more than you get in return. .best supporters in the world. .I hope you all come away happy on Thursday night ..you deserve it. ..atb Upton

So, you don't think there's any difference between finishing 2nd having scored NINETY THREE goals and 5th having scored TWENTY SEVEN less?
That missing goal every other game is just a perception is it? Jesus.

Having said that I'm pretty impressed you've actually got around to comparing us with one of our past re-incarnations. Fully expected how we're much better placed than Real Madrid as they're behind in the UCL Semi.

of course every season is different , but shows how you can go up in second and lose 12 or you can finish 5th and lose just one more 13
at the other end of the scale
we got relegated from the prem with 38 points

hull will stay up for the third time this season possibly and still have to get 37 points

statistics dont tell the whole story

we are in the play offs , thats all that matters
as are preston who you could argue have looked better , but are no better off , which is my point
we could have got another 18 points scored 106 goals and still been in the play offs

real madrid liverpool and ac milan play 11 men just like us and have fans just like us
as do cheltenham and york city
we all strive for comparatively the same thing at differing levels of competance

at no time do I ever say we are at real madrids level , but their fans moan like ours was the only thing Ive ever compared

.. bravo mate
actually Pinch mate i think he was ecouraging people to push off.. granted people moan on here but i suspect they are probably some of the most loyal fans we have

I don't want anyone to stay away mate. The more the better. But for fucks sake, open their gobs to support the team instead of moaning for once. Whatever the originator said, it's very telling how many take offence at the idea of anyone challenging their right to boo and moan at their own team (allegedly). In fact it's a defining characteristic of the "Agenda" group on here [apparently I can't use my usual shorthand, which rather proves the point actually] that their views are unassailable and not to be criticised.

If I hear anyone moan around me tonight, I'll fucking chin them Pinchy.

MM132. You have been warned.

:D

We are expecting the players to give their best, to me we have to do the same.

I don't buy that no one turns up to moan. There are people that sit near me that I've heard moan within ten seconds after the first stray pass. Yes the team generate excitement with how they're playing, but there are many fans ready to pounce on the first error. I'm going to turn up, sing and support them to the end. If you moan. That's up to you, but if the fans do indeed become a twelth man as such, I want to know I did my bit.

I can always slag them off on here after if the useless bastards let me down

You must sit near me. I should start wearing ear plugs to games.

they re only moaning on here though... not necessarily at the game

Y'see readers, this is why Pinchy is in fact, a bit-of-a-joke on here. Hides, sulking when we lose and refuses to face some strident facts about how United play then comes out from under his stone when there is one whiff of United touching some sort of glory, however remote that might seem.

And he denounces people who offer reasoned debate as 'granite skulls', 'single-cells' and other message-board ad hominem which is neither biting nor funny. As well as apologsing if we triumph in the playoffs, I look forward to shipping neat shit from him and will accept it graciously. If we fuck up mind, I don't doubt there will be a big, fucking empty space where he usually is as he fucks off to Denialsville with the rest of the 'believers'.

Like I say, where were you when we were shit, Pinchy? See those 70,000 'fans' on Bournemouth beach yesterday? That's you, that is. Ner.

pommpey
BTW Where is Pinchy ? ;):D

In response to the op, we went, we supported the team, we lost!

The after play-off inquest fat lady is just tuning the old vocal chords in readiness

Let's pray Clough turns in a small miracle Monday, or else the stewards enquiry will begin in earnest regards the usual stability versus progress bollox

Lets hope Clough doesn't go the same way as Labour after Monday . At least some of these MPs have done the right thing to resign after the fuck up . The title of this post just to be clear ----i am having a day off work , spending cash to get there and back , buy the ticket , buy something to eat and drink . - Oh and after all that i better to remember to support the team .

Up The Blades.

Agree with the sentiments of the opening post whilst respecting every supporter's right to criticise. Just don't think negativity achieves anything at this stage. Win or lose the moaning and grumbling can't have any positive influence.

moaning and grumbling may be negative , but in every negative there is a positive , and which can bring a sea of change .
Lets see what Monday brings after a great performance last Thursday , barring a tactical error.

If Clough and the players want promotion as much as us , we will win.
