Don't bank on the playoffs either, all it needs is our current run of league form to continue 3 points from 12 points and we will be chased down.

Its not just the defeats, its the manner of the defeats.

its the Boro's fans shouting "Ole' " while they string pass after pass together and we cant get near them.

And then today where we're chasing shadows but barely stringing more than 2 passes together ourselves.

For a team in 2nd we looked miles behind in terms of performance against Boro, Millwall and Blackburn.
Worrying thing is the resolve. Their heads have gone a bit.

We aren't drawing. Good teams that get promoted shut up shop vs Millwall and take the point. They take any one of their good chances today and take a point.

It seems things are conspiring a bit in favour of others and against us. We never get penalties. VAR might have given us one before their goal. Whereas Boro got two today. When did we ever get two? Blackburn under Warnock days?

But we go behind and we are taking an age to convert.

It's not a good sign.

It is a huge week because there is so much at stake with the financial side.

It's end of an era stuff if they don't pull it together against let's face it, far lesser teams financially, this week.

After watching the blades for 50 years I cant disagree with you, it's ok people saying have faith/hope but this club has over the years has sucked those 2 words out of me, my only hope is that Middlesbrough, who previously was the chaser is becoming the chased , may get some wobbles
Unfortunaltey they dont look like wobbling

But unfortunaltey Hcky and the players dont care. If we go up half of them are gone, so teh incentive is.......................................none

Tend to agree with this, getting promoted would put a good few of our players out of work.

...big promotion bonus for starters

Prime bedwetter thread from an elite bedwetter poster.

Fill your boots fannies.
It was a grayyytt performance, I'm ser glad wi played oreight and we were unlucky tu lose.
Play like that agen an we'll win t'next game.
I fink Fleck and Norwood and Berge in't midfield are brill, and it's not there folt that they can't win by lying on the pitch and farting occasunully

Did I say it was a good performance? Nope, in fact it was fucking shit (2nd half at least) and we have had a few like that recently.

The point is that writing off automatic, and accepting the playoffs when we still have a lead, and a quarter of the season left is not only defeatist, but it's also ridiculous.

We lost again which is cause for concern, the management and the team needs to refocus and find form but the snivelling bed wetting towel throwing kiddies on here are a feckin joke.

So now the players and management team don't want to get promoted? Some of you are denser than the sun.

That felt like a big moment to me.
Seemed to really demoralise our players to have the piss taken out of them in their own backyard. I thought we lacked character that night and we've not been particularly good since.

Need a rocket before Reading.

Obviously we're still in prime position but for me, it's even stevens. If we slip up, I'll lay some of the blame on us in the stands. I've no idea why, but we just don't seem to be behind the team. Home games are stale and away games aren't followed as should be for a team 2nd in the league. Today was OK but not what it ought to have been. Some reyt numpties kicking off in concourse aswell. Can't wait until Tuesday when they'll be the usual away crew.

We're 2nd and one match from fa cup semi final. Anyone with half a fcking brain should be happy with the season to date. If you can't enjoy the ride from our situation I'd consider a switch in interest.

Just lost 3 out of our last 4 league games and the margin to 3rd has quickly eroded.
Excuse folk for not clapping tonight...

We're playing clubs close to us - two of them away and two of them at home. The home game lost was against the form team of the division. There wasn't much in the two away games - that's just how it is sometimes.

I think we'll be fine. Might be closer than we'd like though.

So i'm 56 years old, still playing in the Wragg league and on an off day today - went to Blackburn with my son and daughter(train).................what the fuck was that? No fight, no desire?, no game plan?, no energy?, ..........our best two players were the Man City lads!
No shots on target, No Effort, No Desire, Total disgrace to the following supporters...............what has happened to my beloved Blades?
The eleven who turned out and beat Spurs made me proud..........tell me one player today that falls into that category?

That's fine. But writing off all chances, talk of losing playoffs etc calls for some objectivity else you come across as a bit of a soft cunt, frankly

Agree. Still think we should fall somewhere around the low/mid-80s which means we'll be in the top two mix.
I just think it'll get worse before it gets better. Our immediate run is much harder than Boro's. I expect them to catch us and then have their own little dip thereafter and it'll be a tight race.

We beat reading and I think we beat them easily, it’s the games afterwards that worry me. We need to build some sort of league confidence again. In my opinion Boro will win 8 of their last 11.

It's going to be a real scrap. We're an underdog mentality club, totally uncomfortable with being top dog (either in a league or city IMO). In a way we're probably better off embracing the self placed assertions that we're absolutely wank and hence blindly back them to make up for the tactical and technical deficit.

I agree with your prediction that things will get worse before better and this WILL go down to the wire. But fans as well as players need to show some balls. This could still be an incredible season.

We have done fantastically well this season. It does feel like we've hit the wall but there are some big clubs in this league and we will be punching above our weight wherever we finish.
What drugs are you taking and where can I get them please.

Middlesbrough have won 13 of their last 17 matches - which is an amazing run - one in which you would expect to be top of the League.
But despite that, they are still 4 points behind with 11 games left.
Win on Tuesday and we are back to 7 points clear.
