Players to sign in the prem and season targets we should be aiming for?

McBurnie at Swansea and Meite at Reading are both good in the air, either of those would work in my opinion.

McBurnie has been recently linked with Rangers, Celtic & Nice for £5m. I doubt we’d get Madine for less than that, and if that’s the case it’s a no brainer. McBurnie is 22 yr and is the type of player that we should be looking to get hold of.

I have a soft spot for Vincent Janssen at spurs. I think he’s a fantastic player that has been really unfortunate since coming to the prem. He’s only 24 yrs old and has a bit of everything about him.

He’s just getting back from injury and has probably missed his chance at spurs. They paid £17m for him and have little/no chance of getting anywhere near that back.

I think they’d happily loan him to a prem team next season, hope he finds some form & then sell elsewhere.

Dominic Solanke is another player that I like the look of and will probably blossom next season into a prem level player. He’s flirting with the level at the moment, but is very good a u21 international level. Another potential loanee.

Tammy Abraham is another obvs.

A leftfield player suggestion is Lasogga at Hamburg. He is a bit of an enigma and at 27 is at a crossroads. He was at Leeds last season, and I thought he showed flashes of brilliance. I thinks he’s on a free in the summer.

A target man alternative would be Alexander Sorloth from Palace.

They paid £9m for him from Midtjylland (Denmark), a big fee for a player at a club like that. He played a few games for them when they had an injury crisis and I thought he had something about him. Tall and mobile with decent ball control. Left footed. Now out on loan at Gent in Belgium. Only 23.

Apply the old 'how could he do under our management' consideration and he looks like a decent option.

If Madine and McBurnie are both available for a simalar price, then it's a no brainer like you say. I'd also suggest that McBurnie is more versatile.

As for Janssen and Abraham, I think they're both a but unrealistic unfortunately, though I'd be happy to be proven wrong, especially on the Abraham front.

I could see us taking Kyle Naughton (think hes out of contract) to bolster the RWB options and if required help cover the left side. We might need to sign a third choice keeper too in the Rob Green mould. If we get Hendo back on loan he cant play in two matches, which means Moore comes in. Probably need someone else unless we are happy to go with a youngster. We've been fortunate with Hendo that he's not been injured. Whoevers in goal next year will be busier (!) than this year, therefore a greater risk of injury.

I would suggest we need at least 3 new forwards (Billy stays as hes a poacher and might get a few coming off the bench, but McGoldrick and Clarke arent good enough. We might sign Madine, but dont think Hogan or Washington will stay), probably a replacement for Duffy, maybe another defender and a midfielder.

I think we might be looking at 6/7 coming in to bolster the squad. Think we had a similar number in each of the last two summers.

McBurnie would be a great signing. Scores goals, good in the air, links up play, but most importantly he is a grafter. We will need someone prepared to help out in the middle and track back as we will be pushed backwards more often by the better quality players we will be facing next season.
Also his name is one that could be misspelled quite often, which provides an outlet for some posters on here when things aren't going well.

McGoldrick in this form is good enough. So many players have stepped up to the PL after looking far less convincing in the Championship than he has recently.

His natural ability is PL level, and in his current condition he's more than capable physically as well.

Maybe. Personally, despite being mightily impressed with him this year and in particular these last couple of months, I dont think he is. Those awful first touches he has that takes him back into traffic he gets away with in the Champ, he wont in the top flight where the energy levels and speed of players is greater.

That's the biggest difference going up a league, the level of fitness. It'll take some adjustment for us and the game we play.

He's a clever player and I'd back him to adapt his game as he needs to. He's already started doing that.

I agree about the physicality. Pretty much every signing we make needs to be a good physical specimen.

McBurnie would be an outstanding signing. Under the right tutelage he could go far.
He'll certainly be on our radar too since he ran us ragged at home, scored - and at Swansea didn't do that much and still scored.

Definitely think McBurnie will be near the top of our list.

What would he cost? Could be anywhere between £8m - £16m. Are Swansea still in mad selling mode?

I think our best bet would be to offer about £8m up front rising to £13m based on survival and goals. Those deals are favourable for the buying club because if it does rise to the maximum fee, it means you've been successful.

If FLDC don't go up I think harry Wilson would be a good loan, although there are couple of reasons why not 1, who would he replace and 2, Klopp might have the face on with us after woodburn

I'm assuming Villa will win the Play-Offs so we can maybe plunder the others! We are Premier League!!

We have a strong squad already so 3 or 4 from these very good Championship players/ Prem loanees who will improve us. Concentrate on quality improvements rather than too many new players. I'm sure we will:

Robinson @ Preston
Browne Preston
Freeman QPR
McBurnie Swansea
Maupay Brentford
Benrahma Brentford
Irvine Hull
Bowen Hull
Klich Leeds
Hernandez Leeds
Naughton Swansea
James Swansea ( pace)
Mount Derby
Wilson Derby
Tomori Derby
Lolley Forest
Hogan Villa ( pace)
Mooey Huddersfield
Woodrow Barnsley
Hart Burnley
Grosiki Hull

All hungry with plenty to prove at this level. We do need pace. Hard to find it though with brains as well.

same as when we came from league 1 realistically 17th. but if things do go badly then let's be burnley they came up, went down, kept faith with dyche & came back up

but wilder has exceeded expectations every season for last 4 with us & Northampton. what's to say he won't again
