My worry at present is that IMO we don't have any plan b.
The bench is full of youngsters and doesn't contain anyone who can change the game.
I'm not being critical of any of the young lads, but, none have decent league experience.

Hence why we needed cresswell imo and i'll stand all the critisism for saying it.

Arguably we didn't have this last season either.

Wilson likes to only play his best 11, he doesn't think much further, so when he makes changes they tend to be within that system or players that aren't really going to be much of an improvement.

I don't think its a bad way to work, it just means that we need to get 2-3 goals up/ have the creativity and potency to come back/ not concede.

I'm not too concerned as I think once the supply and scorers start to gel, we'll get plenty of goals.

I also think fatigue is not being considered enough by Wilson. We've basically played 3 games in a week with the same team... they're not 100% match fit yet and he needs to look to bring the fresh legs in earlier. Also mix up the subs a bit, Cofie for Miller every game isn't going to give either long enough to get the games and goals that they need. He needs to give the strike partnership of Blackman/ Cofie time to gel properly - full games for at least 5-6 games.

Its not a criticism of Wilson, quite the contrary, last season was proof that over the season his system works well and with a lot of goals.

We didn't need anything to change the game today or on Tuesday. What we needed was to take our chances. The players need to find more of a ruthless streak in front of goal.....we're inviting teams back in. The Shrewsbury game could have easily been the same.

Cresswell and Monty are going come hell or high water (actually whatever the club and players can agree on wages etc and get them moved to new clubs)

We don't know what new players and loans are lined up. Hopefully Quinn and Maguire don't go.

The flexibility will come from these changes but we'll all have to wait until the end of the week

I have to agree there mekky.
Unfortunately i think Cresswell's absence isn't football related, it's financial.

I understand that but like i said in a previous thread you cant blood the youngsters all at once they have to be introduced gradually, only my opinion, but i think along side a seasoned pro they would benefit much more

I dont see anybody coming in if they move on. We need to move them on to bring ourselves within the new financial rules. I dont expect anyone coming in.....the best case scenario for me is that we keep Quinn.

This is where we could have used someone like big darius, yes i said it, i'm all for the nice football but if its not working after an hour or so i'm all for a hoof up to a big centre forward if it brings a goal.

We lack punch up front. It was evident from the first game

Same at Cove and again today

Yes we are unbeaten, but draws don't do you too many favours in this game.

Our defence isn't good enough to keep a clean sheet every week and so we get punished

I wanted Miller to start today. Let's see what he contributes given a full game, but Wilson sees it differently.

At the moment, I see a 4th to 8th finishing spot

If Quinn or any of the other first teamers go next week, I'll be revising that downwards

Reading between the lines with what Wilson has said that there needs to movement out of the club before he can bring anyone in. We need CB cover, I dont know if the interest in Schlupp is still there but we could deffo do with a proven goalscorer I see Beavon is still at Wycombe (not likely as we are skint)

Not that he is the solution, but what's up with Porter ? There's been no specific information on his injury.

Whitehouse and LJF will be welcome additions to the squad come the end of September.

But the next 7 days are crucial. I predict there will be no more Cresswell and Monty debates this time next week.

4pts dropped so far due to not taking our chances but what the hell do you lot expect from a 19 yr old on loan and two strikers who do not have a great deal of experience and have not had a lot of 1st team games recently. We always knew that they will need time to get to know each others game and as they are still learning they will make mistakes and miss chances .................. and you lot think a team full on youngsters will be pushing for promotion ? Get real, maybe next year certainly not this season, If all the young player make the grade I'll be amazed never mind get in the play offs or better. Whining bring Cresswell back is NOT the answer and it will not happen we have to bite the bullet and hope the kids develop.

We've won our home game and drawn / not lost our away games, so effectively we are on target for 92 points, which THIS TIME should be enough.

We haven't had a Plan B since Pesch, or maybe Andy Walker. We're skint, we can't afford the players to have a decent Plan A so let's try and get that one sorted first, then maybe we can look at the bigger picture.

Agree that we need cover at CB. However I reiterate that it seems highly unlikely we will bring anyone in as a result of shipping the big earners out. Wont happen simple as. I fully expect that by the end of the window 2 or 3 more will have left and none will come in. At the very very best, one loan but I dont see it. If we're well over budget now how can we?!
