Player to Manager - the CWAK era

I'm not sure if Sharp will actually be a decent manager in the end, how many out and out goal scoring strikers have gone on to be good managers? He has the leader attribute, but not sure if he has the tactical nous, I do think Sharp will be a decent coach and a successful pundit, he has the character for it.

Clough Snr scored 251 goals in 274 appearances, mostly in a 7 year spell, and pretty much all in Division 2. It's only one data point, but he was pretty good as a manager

Wilder was part of a squad from one of our most successful eras, under one of our greatest managers, Dave Bassett.

Let's say this cycle continues, and a current player develops to be a (successful) future manager for us...

Wilder, Bassett and Colin, all limited footballers. Wilder the best of them, but no fan of that Bassett team could have had the insight to say he was going to go on and do what he has. Therefore there probably is a good manager among the team, though unlikely to be one of the stars. They need to be driven, possibly by their own lack of success. He could have left, say Wilson, of the current core Bash has a drive that makes him maximise his ability. But I would have much more success who is unlikley.

Norwood for me. Always seems to speak well and the fact he’s been given the captaincy shows that Wilder can see leadership qualities in him. Also seems to have really bought into the club (I know pretty much all of the players have) but he seems really at home here.
