Yeah that’s the dream isn’t, rare opportunity to do something in a big match and we play ok.
11 big matches at Wembley, old Trafford and the millennium stadium and lost every single one.

Nothing to lose today and they play ‘ok’,
Bangin stuff
They took their chances when they appeared, and Iliman squandered ours when they appeared. That's the difference really. The game plan was working until individual errors changed the game.

That's football. Next week, iliman scores that, and we hold on for pens.

Young striker rash tackle gives the ref an easy choice to give a penalty and bomb scare Robinson gives them the freedom of the middle of the pitch. Man City are THE dominant side of the last 5 years. That is the absolute top level. Not everyone is as good as them
Almost as if chucking £2bn into a club in total disregard for FFP makes a difference!

Man City have scored 3 or more goals in the premier league against:
Bournemouth x2, Newcastle, Palace, Forest, Wolves x2, Man U, Southampton x2, Brighton, Leeds, Spurs, Villa, Arsenal, Liverpool, Leicester (14/19 teams)

They've put 6 past forest and man U this season, 6 past burnley in the cup and 7 past Leipzig in the champions league and 3 past BAYERN MUNICH.

We did bloody marvellous considering two of our best midifelders weren't allowed to play.
I actually came away thinking "you know what, a few signings in the right areas and we'll be asbolutely fine"

UTB

We diddnt have our best team out. We diddnt get battered and we had a couple of shots on target. We played with our usual integrity and showed every one we dont go down like the rest of em. All the players deserve huge credit. Heads held high and on we fucking march!

I’ve no idea what you think we were supposed to do?

When you consider our strength is defending, of course that’s how we’re going to play. Even if that approach gave us a 1/1000 chance of winning, I genuinely think that’s the best chance we have.

And yeah, we played ok - some big ‘what if’s’ but what if Illi bags after a minute and Jebbo doesn’t foul his man at the corner - two big moments go our way and we’re 1-0 at half time.

Yes you’d think City would still have more than enough to turn it round but I do think it was smaller margins on Saturday than we were all expecting and for that I’m quite encouraged (albeit disappointed as maybe it could have been our day after all!)

Seems a fair comment but I think Man City objective was to win the match with the least effort possible suffering no injuries or suspensions
remember this match was between their vital Bayern and Arsenal match, so they needed to save energy and just win the match by any scoreline

and our objective was to not get thrashed. It was a case of what might have been. N'Diaye has a great chance in the 1st minute.
When we park the bus we're a really tough nut to crack, knew that even Man City would struggle, when we have numbers back.
So unlucky to gift Man City a penalty, what a stupid mistake by Jebbo.

Naturally had to be more positive in the 2nd half and again made a stupid error, Lowe gifting Man City their 2nd goal.

At 2-0 the game was over...Man City took their foot off the pedal and we accepted we'd lost.
Much of the 2nd half was like a pre season friendly, think both teams were quite happy with the 3-0, bit of a non event of a match really.

Yeah because expecting anything else against Man City is completely realistic.

Exactly how I saw it.

We will improve and make signings and remember playing against the likes of Bournemouth, Palace, Burnley, the play off winners, Fulham, and whoever finishes 17th-15th is an entire different matter to playing City.
When you consider wank teams like Leeds and Everton are probably going to survive…I think we might have a fighting chance.

Fair enough
