just in shock. i thought top half was an outstanding achievement. without quoting Taylor swift never in my wildest dreams did i have in top 6 nevermind 3rd 1pt off auto promotion. ive said many times before derby county i wouldve been happy with 12pts before the next international break, as thought 18pts from 1st 11 games would be a great return back to the championship considering who we have played & i just looked at last season table across the city had that return were 9th. so to have 9 pts still with 4 games left. positively stunned

The really amazing thing though has been how EASY the recent wins have been.
Another great trend is how consistent our team is, we always put in a decent performance.
I'm confident we'll only get better.

It seems this division isn't the high standard we were told and dare we dream of top 2?

We have 8 points less than Rotherham got in the whole of last season!!

#wilderaaaaaaart

no, I don't think we will be where we are now in april. Our strikeforce is to weak. But I'm just enjoying this for as long as it lasts! The Derby game is looking Massive !

It's cos teams don't know about us yet, I've been reliably informed.

Once they do we may struggle...

....at sound the the 95-96 point mark on current calculations.. may not get that 100 points.

Well, I'm gonna resist being a smart arse and saying something like, "I told you so", but....... I did.

Well if you were listening to radio Sheffield you would be hard put to know where we were in the league. After listening to clueless Carlos rambling on for what must have been 15-20 minutes the first three callers all happened to be pigs, up to 5th this, up to 5th that, unbeaten in the last six, going for top two, playing like Barcelona blah blah blah. Hardly a mention the only proper Sheffield team are sitting third in the table, not bad for a team straight out of league one who on paper have had a harder set of fixtures than the shite from S6 who going on BBC reports were out played by Brentford for long periods.

Norwich are there for taking, they're a poor side. We should be aiming to win that 100% and go into the pigs game possibly in the top 2.

Imagine the confidence seeping from the players if we're second or possibly even TOP of the division going into the first Steel City Derby for 5 years.

Let's make it 5 on the spin blades.

I can't understand why Sheffield's massivest club got 3,000 less fans through the turnstiles when they played Brentford than when we did
Missed a zero off when announcing, I think.

maybe because ours was a midweek game into the season and brentford for you was 1st game of season at home after promotion.the attendance thing is :tumbleweed: and who really cares as long as the team is winning on both sides.
ahem
it's always your guys who are going on about it to be fair

And right on cue...

You forgot that the weather was a bit rainy and windy. And there was a double-header Corrie on telly. Oh and you forgot to say that tickets are far more expensive at the Theatre of Rust. Oh, and getting from That London to Sheffield on a Tuesday night is difficult. And that if large portions of SWillsborough are unsafe or you'd have got the usual 37k sell-out.

Look pal, you come across as not as delusional as the average pig fan but 'Who really cares...' bollocks is reserved for piggies who know the balance of power is shifting in Sheffield. I don't suppose the piggies who are still droning on - 38 years later - about beating the Blades really care?

No titans in this league, as a brave minority dared to say from the outset, whilst others quaked in terror at the thought of Brentford et al.

Beware Norwich, though. They have quality and will come good sooner rather than later...

On the prediction thread I went for 5th and got pelters. On reflection though, I must stop being so pessimistic. Top three now folks.

In addition, I trust the avoiding-relegationers will post their grovelling apologies at being so disrespectful to our club. Anyone with half a brain could see we were better than that going into this season. Time to stop listening to the hype from across the city and believing what's in front of your eyes instead.

A few were getting in their digs about the team so they could refer back to them if we lost. Too bad Wilder is a genius, what a win.

Wilder is working miracles, this squad should be nowhere near 3rd, even after 7 matches.

Hopefully he keeps us in the mix come January and we can back him to give it a serious go in the second half of the season.
You are falling into the trap that says you have to have a team of players that cost millions to get out of this league.
Wilder is not performing miracles he just understands the basics of management. He is buying players that fit into his model. He plays players where they are best and most comfortable. He praises when it is due and he is not shy of criticizing when they haven't performed. He has created a spirit within the team, which has spread through the whole club. Most of all he has created a team.
So we have every right to be where we are and long may it continue.

My mate made a statement that if we go up with this squad that we'd need 15 new players.

But whilst Wilder is certainly getting the best out of the players we have, the players are clearly a talented bunch.

I don't think that the step up to PL is as big as from L1 to Champ.

Yeah we need a few more players with improved attributes (perhaps height, pace, power, strength), but we have a lot of quality in the squad. The biggest attribute we need in this division is experience, look at the performances against Boro and Sunderland, they were hugely improved.

That's not just the players, that's the coaches, the manager and the staff. We're learning when to make changes better, we're learning to be more clinical. To fear nobody.

The importance of 'Marginal gains' can't be underestimated, getting fitter, more organised, tailoring training plans to individuals.

Do we need more quality, of course it will help, but we have a blend of players and a squad with a huge capability to perform.

People usually thrown that 10-game yardstick around.

Even if we lose the next 3, we'll still be in a great position.
If only the perfectly good goal at Middlesbrough would have stood it would be even greater
But I think Norwich are there for the taking, a draw against Wolves would be a good result, and the pig game in-between will be...interesting.

Great time to be a Blade. Let's knock the Canary cunts out of the way and bring the pigs on.

This is a fantastic start. Nonetheless, I think some realism is in order. The failure to properly strengthen in the transfer window, particularly up top, means we are very exposed to injuries to key players - we are already seeing this. I'm hoping that we can stay there and thereabouts until the JTW and then finally - finally - see CW get the backing from the Board he deserves.

NOOOOO!

That can't be. Everyone knows that because McCabe didn't 'invest' £6m in the transfer window we are doomed.

It is proven established bona-fide well known FACT, that 'good' players cost at least £2m each.

By not signing these 'good' players we are showing 'no ambition'.

You may still have time to edit your post and get a dig in about KM and the Prince if you are quick.

Not so sure Norwich are there for the taking, always have a good game at The Lane, and they have a player that has the class to upset us called Oliveira.

They just drew 0-0 at home to Burton. They got dicked 4-0 by Millwall away. They lost to Sunderland 3-1 at home.

There for the taking.

Norwich have some good players but were incredibly inconsistent last year.
They'd win 4-0 one week, then lose 0-4 the week after.
Anything could happen on Saturday and I'm sure CW will have them prepared expecting a tough match.

Allus prefer a proper Sheffield double, misen.
Blades win is the peach but a Sheffield double just adds that extra bourbon vanilla cream onto the occasion.
Lightly whipped to perfection
Esepecially if there is an element of controversy about how the Wendy got turned over.

"Seven controversial goals for United"

I can just see the Star headline now.
Can also imagine radio pig "United were lucky in so many areas, the quality of the Wednesday players oozed all through the game " :(
