On the prediction thread I went for 5th and got pelters. On reflection though, I must stop being so pessimistic. Top three now folks.

In addition, I trust the avoiding-relegationers will post their grovelling apologies at being so disrespectful to our club. Anyone with half a brain could see we were better than that going into this season. Time to stop listening to the hype from across the city and believing what's in front of your eyes instead.
It's hard to find much to argue about at the moment, so this is no more than an explanation of my membership of the 'avoiding-relegationers' club, though I can't remember whether I have posted anything on the subject. It is easy for fans to get carried away, and if expectations get high, then reaction to failures become exaggerated, and can create a negative atmosphere when things don't go perfectly. Most managers adopt the one game at a time approach, and I think Wilder last year expressed a view of 'first avoid relegation, then guarantee top-half finish, guarantee play-offs, guararantee autos, guarantee winning league, get 100 points'. One step at a time, and a repeat of last year would do nicely. Better not to put too much pressure on at once (but it is good for us as fans to dream). I don't feel the need to apologise, and it certainly has nothing to do with the lot from S6, and is not disrespectful to anyone at the club. What I will apologise for is the fact that after the years of failure, I still can't get it into my head that we might, just might, have something to be optimistic about. At each kick-off, the feeling of optimism evaporates; I'll keep trying.

I am always a bit on the pessimistic side; must be something to do with being born in the early 70s just as the Blades wheels first started to work loose.
But, as someone said on here the other day - We got 100 points last season because we already were a championship standard side playing in league one - I think that is a fair assessment!

And right on cue...

You forgot that the weather was a bit rainy and windy. And there was a double-header Corrie on telly. Oh and you forgot to say that tickets are far more expensive at the Theatre of Rust. Oh, and getting from That London to Sheffield on a Tuesday night is difficult. And that if large portions of SWillsborough are unsafe or you'd have got the usual 37k sell-out.

Look pal, you come across as not as delusional as the average pig fan but 'Who really cares...' bollocks is reserved for piggies who know the balance of power is shifting in Sheffield. I don't suppose the piggies who are still droning on - 38 years later - about beating the Blades really care?
I ain't as delusional as some mate I just see it and tell it how I see it.some do think the derby will be easy but I don't. I'm s bit too old to be 1 of these my clubs got more fans than you etc.i just go to watch the team win and not bothered if it's just me in the ground or 90k there.

Beautiful how the claims of our rivals that we wouldn't get promoted has turned to "they will finish mid table" in the league above in just 7 months. What a mockery Wilder and the boys have made of their talk.
