Yes let’s play McBurnie from the start and recall Mousset , Burke and Luke Freeman from their LoansFound wanting tonight. Not their fault, but they’re a long way short.
We have to blood them though , stop dreaming of promotion + think about developing a squad.Found wanting tonight. Not their fault, but they’re a long way short.
He wasn't saying thatYes let’s play McBurnie from the start and recall Mousset , Burke and Luke Freeman from their Loans
My points were not advocating returning to a failed past. But more a worrying concern regarding the perceived glorious future we have with our current youngsters at the helm.Yes let’s play McBurnie from the start and recall Mousset , Burke and Luke Freeman from their Loans
Who else do we play if the kids are not good enoughHe wasn't saying that
Funny little manMy points were not advocating returning to a failed past. But more a worrying concern regarding the perceived glorious future we have with our current youngsters at the helm.
Let me guess, Jack and the Beanstalk was your favourite fairytale?
They weren’t good enough tonight and look a long way short of being able to operate in Championship waters. That’s an observation, not a criticism.Funny little man
when the kids have had as many chances as those others ,then say they are not good enough
18 year olds first game, write him off. They weren’t good enough tonight and look a long way short of being able to operate in Championship waters. That’s an observation, not a criticism.
Both in terms of his positional play, touch and defensive qualities, Seriki looked out of his depth. Can you teach that, at this level? We’ll see.
Jebbison, we assume is better. And evidence supports this based on loan at Burton. Tonight he was very poor though.
That's what they do in the NBA, NFL and NHL in America and why the draft system works. You sacrifice the end goal for a few seasons to build a team and develop the draft players, then push for glory when the team is ready. The owners more often accept this while the team goes through the transition. Football expects results by yesterday and managers aren't given time to build and develop as a midfield finish is considered unacceptable, and they're sacked for poor results or a poor table finish, despite owners knowing what they're trying to do.We have to blood them though , stop dreaming of promotion + think about developing a squad.
How many different threads can you start slating our academy kids?Found wanting tonight. Not their fault, but they’re a long way short.
Slating? Or criticising. How do you think they did, honestly?Get a life.
The American system allows development because you can lose every single game to get a good draft pick and still play at the top level every single year, you need results in a proper pyramid where you can go down and the finances fall off a cliff hence extreme pressure on results. That's what they do in the NBA, NFL and NHL in America and why the draft system works. If our youth are the future then forget promotion and the play offs for a few seasons and accept indifferent results whilst they gain valuable experience playing in the Championship.
Ndiaye is older than Bogle, but look at the difference between them. One is an exciting raw talent but makes bad decisions on the ball resulting in only 1 goal since making his debut and no assists since his debut. The other has become a constant threat and reliable player for both goals and assists. Bogle has the experience of two seasons for Derby in the Championship, half a season for us in the Premier League and now half a season back in the Championship. He can still improve but he's a better player than Ndiaye by a long shot, and better than Baldock in my opinion.
I’m not writing them off. But we risk writing off our season by persisting with them right now.18 year olds first game, write him off.
Ok
PH took a gamble it didn’t work out and he changed it.
I’m ok with that have you seen our injury list
Also there is no threat of another team coming in with a transfer offer a year or two after the players are drafted. So you can plan on having a group of 4/5 excellent prospects for the next 4 or 5 years. The American system allows development because you can lose every single game to get a good draft pick and still play at the top level every single year, you need results in a proper pyramid where you can go down and the finances fall off a cliff hence extreme pressure on results.
“Long way short of championship quality” sounds very much like writing him offI’m not writing them off. But we risk writing off our season by persisting with them right now.
That’s my opinion right now, it’s a forum. I love the Blades and would love them to progress. I’ve volunteered an alternative view. Try it.“Long way short of championship quality” sounds very much like writing him off
You didn’t say “on the basis of 65 mins debut against one of the highest pressing team we have faced.”
He’s a kid in red and white give him a chance, I don’t get some people
Sorry thought my opinion was clear, if not here it isThat’s my opinion right now, it’s a forum. I love the Blades and would love them to progress. I’ve volunteered an alternative view. Try it.
Absolute rubbish. They weren’t good enough tonight and look a long way short of being able to operate in Championship waters. That’s an observation, not a criticism.

How do we find out if they’re not given minutes? Presumably they’ve shown something in training or they would have got nowhere near the pitch tonight.I’m not writing them off. But we risk writing off our season by persisting with them right now.
You’re a sensitive lad. I hope Femi’s got broader shoulders.Sorry thought my opinion was clear, if not here it is
Brave decision from PH to debut the lad who hasn’t had much game time in this one
Think Forest were better and more intense than most expected
Seriki did ok, liked how he got forward, ball didn’t run for him a couple of times and he could have done better a couple of times
The whole team underperformed and although davies did ok, think Seriki would have benefitted from having bash next to him.
Didn’t help him that Oli had one of his off nights
PH saw what we all saw and made the change, was great to see benO back with a point to prove against forest and he did well
65 mins of a hard debut is no way to judge whether a player is “short of championship quality”
He’s a kid and a blade and I don’t like it when people are unfair in their message board criticism, would you tell him to his face he’s short of championship quality?
I just think you can’t judge any player let alone an 18yo making his debut on 65 mins
Glad you want to see us “progress”
