In Clough we trust :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Oh and NN is back
<<<<<<<<<

We know metal blade, we knew it would be back as we have lost a game. I'm sure your bevus and butthead picture will be back when we win again or go on a decent run like before this loss. Seems there is a 'clapper' in you dying to get out!

Yup, though it is a bit hard to clap a team that only manage one (yes ONE) shot on target all night against a team already relegated.

I know - hence your changed avatar. I'm hoping it will be back to bevus and butthead on Saturday night....thats what my hope has come to as a blade, it all hinges on your fickle avatar, I hope with every inch of my being that it is bevus and butthead come May 24th! I really couldn't cope with your crowing if we don't get promoted, the sad thing is is that it's as bad as listening to a pig gloat.

Once again we have been totally unprofessional tonight. We have a team of no characters and that as much as ability is why we are so far away from the top 2. Time and time again we put in these sort of half arsed displays. We may win the play offs because at least they will likely be up for it. There is a huge issue regarding our mentality though. We just turn up to games and sleepwalk our way through them hoping someone else will do something that will win us the game

It's not been good enough all season and even promotion won't disguise just how many issues we have to address

Perhaps so, but whinging and whining about everything is not helping
Perhaps when our supporters get behind the team the team may get behind the supporters and give them something to cheer about !

I'm more confident now that we'll make the Play Offs than I was before the Yeovil game. Rochdale's defeat means that they have one less game in which to catch us. Now, we can seal it mathematically on Saturday if we win and Rochdale fail to do so. We may not even need another win in our league remaining games.

Looking at the League table, it may even go down to the wire for the second auto place. Preston are best-placed but if they slip, Swindon and MK Dons are both waiting to pounce. The fact that it's tightening at the top could work in our favour. None of those teams can afford to rest players yet.

Presuming we make the play offs, we know for certain that we'll he at home in the first leg on May 7 against MK, Preston or Swindon, with the second leg away on May 11th. Whether we finish 5th or 6th, we'll play a disappointed team that has missed out on automatic. How much of a myth it is that such teams don't win Play Offs, I'm not sure.

Yes, we played shit against Yeovil, just as we did against Crewe, Fleetwood, Peterborough, Gillingham etc etc. But we've shown before that in big games - Spurs x 2, QPR, Bristol City, West Ham, QPR, and most recently Barnsley, we can turn it on, and match and better our opponents. There's no reason why we can't do that in the Play Offs too

Preston 42 35 82
MK Dons 42 44 79
Swindon 41 23 76
Sheff Utd 43 13 68
Chesterfield 43 15 67
Rochdale 42 12 60

That's not the point BTL. Fans are allowed to come on here and discuss the mishaps of tonights embarrasing result and by the sounds of it a complete and utter clusterfuck of a performance.

It seem they all played as though their boots were on the wrong feet, not having seen the game, I am not in a position to single anyone out as the biggest numpty.

However, we are a small team height wise and, how many Jocks played last night? I have thought for some time that said Jocks, are reasonably neat footballers, but in a team, they are no better than the Scottish league from whence they came. and I have always equated teams in those leagues, apart from the old firm and a couple more ,as no better than players in the Conference. Do I think that they will reach the Play Off Final? I wouldn't put my mother in law's pension on it.

If you think we'll get anything other than soundly beaten in the play-offs, should we even make them, then you're kidding yourselves.

No he was studying football facts waiting for you to get back.

Thanks for making the effort to go LTB. I went to Huish Park the last time, and left licking wounds.

The only glimmer of hope I give myself is that Swindon will be playing Saturday/Tuesday every week until the end of the season. Hope they get some injuries and/or suspensions. But it's a bad sign when you're banking on the weaknesses of your opponents more than your own strengths. It's that exact sort of negative thinking that seems to be rife at our club at the moment.
It was a bad defeat D"jaffo write us off if you like but we will be up for the play off games whatever. We can beat anyone in the play offs on our day as this seasons results show(we can also lose!) which united will turn up ?.I think the blades in the big games since clough came in have produced whether it will be good enough we will soon find out.
Dont read too much into last nights defeat relegated teams do sometimes perform well especially when the opposition is having one of those nightmare games when as a team they just dont perform. It will serve as a reminder that the next 3 games + the play offs are going to be tough and to get behind the players even after a no show last night ....
We can do this if we stick together ,dont make the players nervous after a mistake as there will be be plenty of those in the next few games.I said earlier this season get ready for a roller coaster and we are right in the middle of that now ups and downs is the name of the game for us blades lets make sure we finish on a up , we have been hear before we are seasoned blades we can do it!!

We have to win the play off's, because if not, I think that makes our play off record worse than Preston's (from memory, we are second crappest), and because another year in League One will make us the biggest club to have spent the most consecutive seasons in the third tier, in living memory, another record we don't want.

And Nige, in whom of course we have to trust, wanted four points..only four ..from Oldham and Yeovil. Apparently it was a good away point v Oldham, according to Nige...and the points tally v these two crap teams is one point. Majestic. Hes a star.

You usually make some good points, WHF but this is WTF?

Will Clough be quoting this on Football Heaven tomorrow night?
I guess it shows how things can change..eg getting 5 goals and six points v dingles and donny...1 point from Oldham n Yeovil.

Here's the number of goals scored by the teams in the top six tonight:

Bristol C 6
Preston 2
MK dons 3
Swindon 4
Blades 0
Chesterfield 6

we limply lose to bottom the league already relegated side.......it doesn't get much more depressing than this.
Reminds me of the pummelling by a desperately poor relegated already Portsmouth in 2013 prior to the last playoff fiasco.

The big difference being Wolves went up as Champions and United were 7th or 8th at the time. Yeovil are 24th and already relegated.

relegated sides , pressure is off
we once got relegated with 6 to go , won 4 and drew 2 of the last 6
wednesday got relegated from the prem , beat Leicester 4-0 in their last ever prem game ever
WHEN THEY GOT RELEGATED TO LEAGUE ONE IN 2003 THEY WERE RELEGATED AFTER A 1-1 DRAW AT BRIGHTON THEN WON 7-2 AT BURNLEY , SO BEING RELEGATED DOESNT MEAN YOUR EASY MEAT

and the result against top of the table Leeds and bottom of the table Yeovil is related how?

Fwiw, if we line up in the play offs
GK
RB
CB
CB
LB
RM
CM
CM
LM
CM in the hole or CF
CF

then I think we'll be OK.

If we line up (as last night)
GK
RB (really RM)
CB (best RB in division)
CB (CM probably)
LB (really RB)
RM (not sure best pos but not RM that's for sure)
CM
CM
CM
LM (CF)
CF

then I think we're fucked. Over 50% square pegs isn't going to cut it. We've seen it so many times this season I'm not confident it won't happen again.

a) Yeah, see Blackpool last night.
b) No we didn't
c) and Leicester had what to play for?

Last night we could have virtually secured a play-off spot against a team way adrift at the bottom of the league. Dress the result up how you will. Doesn't stop it being shit.
