and the result against top of the table Leeds and bottom of the table Yeovil is related how?
Fwiw, if we line up in the play offs
GK
RB
CB
CB
LB
RM
CM
CM
LM
CM in the hole or CF
CF
then I think we'll be OK.
If we line up (as last night)
GK
RB (really RM)
CB (best RB in division)
CB (CM probably)
LB (really RB)
RM (not sure best pos but not RM that's for sure)
CM
CM
CM
LM (CF)
CF
then I think we're fucked. Over 50% square pegs isn't going to cut it. We've seen it so many times this season I'm not confident it won't happen again.
You indeed make a great point, and something some of us have been banging on about for a lot of the season.
Considering we have NO proper centre halves, then we have to minimise the problem of teams actually GETTING to our centre halves and although I never like putting a team down before a game, I will offer up this:
GK: Howard
RB: Brayford
LB Harris
CB
CB
2 central deep sitting midfield of Coutts and Doyle.
A diamond of:
Basham sat just in front and allowed to break forward.
Murphy left
Done right
Davies up top.
No Holt, baxter, Scoogs, reed - just too small, too soft. Bit unjust on holt who scores a few, but seems to drift in and out of games.
Now, for me this is the same as Bristol Away, is similar to Rochdale away and not far off Barnsley.
It offers strength in the middle which is the crux of the problem to me, with 3 players up top all capable of winning any game.
The problem is centre backs - injury permitting, McE as one and Kennedy as the other. If injured then it is a tough call who to play there.
We MUST make ourselves hard to beat - pack the midfield with strength and protect the defence.
