Maybe not nothing, but they were by no means a heavyweight or even middleweight. The whole Forest illusion is post Clough. That is the vast majority of their history we are talking about, in which they were nothing special to say the least. This is best illustrated in their lack of FA Cup successes when that was the big prize. The notion that they are "back where they belong" is laughable.

Forest's attendances for a club with a much smaller neighbour aren't that impressive imo. They are a club that was lucky to have the greatest manager of all time. Before and after that event they were pretty non descript.
I agree with all of that too. Forest are very much like Wednesday in that when they're in the Prem they see themselves as part of the elite, but in the 21st century neither, until Sunday, have graced the top flight. By rights they are a PL club by size, but so are we. The difference is the likes of Forest and Wednesday see it as "where they belong", without realising that as Chris Wilder and Dave Bassett have also said, you've no right to be in the PL, it's only on merit.

What's sad though is that in the past teams like Forest and Derby, United too, were able to compete at the top of the First Division without huge money, now with Leicester's season as an exception, that dream is gone.

God we're a miserable bunch, I hate the scabs more than any other club but Wednesday but fair crack to the Mull of Kintyre song, similar to our own GCB one in terms of age. They started in the late seventies, here are their words:

City Ground

Oh mist rolling in from the Trent

My desire is always to be here

Oh City Ground

Far have I travelled and much have I seen

Goodison, Anfield are places I've been

Maine Road, Old Trafford still echo to the sound

Of the boys in the red from the City Ground

City Ground

Oh mist rolling in from the Trent

My desire is always to be here

Oh City Ground

Passing the leather like Clougie's great men

Please take us back to the days I knew then

Games when we sang in the Nottingham choir

When we thrashed the sheep from Derbyshire

City Ground

Oh mist rolling in from the Trent

My desire is always to be here

Oh City Ground

Smiles in the sunshine, Football like champagne

Still take me back to where my memories remain

Flickering embers growing higher and higher

And a new squad of players for us to inspire

City Ground

Oh mist rolling in from the Trent

My desire is always to be here

Oh City Ground

The mist on the Trent is way better than the fog on the Tyne, this I know to be true.

I bet their fans are happy someone didn't choose Ina Gadda Davida as a song. But my God, that's a long song.

So teams to go down next year:

Forest
Leeds
Bournemouth

I m going for Huddersfield. because of Florest fan's attitude and that cunt who headbutted Billy and the cunt who waved florist flag near the kop from the posh bit IN John street stand..,m going for Mansfield in the league two playoff Final. I have a £50 treble for Liverpool to win the Champions League. as well.
Just catching up on the thread & stumbled across your prophecy……
Can you let me know who you’re betting on next season please so I can do the opposite.
Thanks 😉
