Now we have the official fixtures, how is everyone feeling around the first five?

Crystal Palace H
Nottingham Forest A
Man City H
Everton H
Tottenham A

3 of the 5 at home, but 2 of them against the top 6. Palace, Everton and Forest is hard to gauge, but a lot depends on who we all bring in also respectively.

I think it’s a good start, and a great chance to get the “need a win” duck off our back. The only one that we’re getting nothing from is City imo.

What do you think?

Draw with Man City and we can be equal top after the first five :)

Putting the fixtures in my diary, it doesn't look so daunting - the only thing that gives me a slight worry is that we do have 4 of the bigger clubs in our first 8 home games. They will be games where we can't really expect to just have a go at them in the expectation that we can outplay them. If we get nothing from those and little from the other home games, then we're relying on away games.

The flipside is if we can take advantage of away games against the not quite so big sides and grab a couple of sneaky point form those home games against the big shots, we're sitting pretty. I vote for that.

Impossible to judge until we know transfer business but I'd say 4 points. Beat Everton and draw with Palace. I can only see us losing to Forest given all the shit that will be around the game.

7 points looks possible. Everton h Palace h and Forrest a. If we can't get anything from those fixtures we may as well not turn up!
Some on here already have given up so fuck it let's just go for it.

Nobody in the world will realistically expect us to survive so let's just make sure the club is in a better financial position in 12 months time whatever league that may be in.

I reckon we'll get 7-10 points - but that's assuming we've signed two or three starters at least a week before the season begins.

If we play without any midfielders we'll definitely struggle.

yeah would agree with other posters 6/7 points from first 5 and that would be a great start imo

Although every fixture is critical we need to get off to a good start, October is looking like a very tricky month and depending on our FA cup draw/Strategy January is at least a 4 pointer as we could easily only have 3 fixtures then, which could bring about its own set of challenges especially with momentum etc. It will be interesting to see how many clubs and if we do take the opportunity for a 7-10 day overseas warm weather training camp in January as it could be the perfect opportunity to refresh

Beating the Notts Forest scum is every bit as important to me as any victory against the Pigs, and probably more so.

Words can't do justice to how much I detest the cunts with every fibre of my being.

I’d be happy with 3 points as long as those 3 points came from the utter demolition of the scabby bastards.

In reality 5, 7 doable and would be a dream start.

Agreed, we can write Man City off obviously, but the rest are well within our capabilities.

As an aside, it's quite unhealthy how much I hate N***s F****t. It's not just a football definition of hate, I loathe them in the same way that people hate terrorists and nonces.

Just seen this comment on the Forest forum (of course inevitably Bramall Lane is spelt incorrectly). Have Forest fans forgotten that it was their fans who attacked a United player?

Probably too busy wanking about winning the European cup half a century ago.

In this league we need to be tracking on a one point per game average.
I see 5 points in there so hopefully we get off to a decent start.
