i shouldn't post on here when I'm bolloxed but I do :-(

So fed up with thinking after Bradford yes that's it we're on a roll now only to follow up with shit like yesterday - just always seems one step forward two back - that added to the fact it seems like we are currently heading for our longest ever spell in division 3 with no light at the end of the tunnel is thoroughly depressing :-(

And what can I do ? Not renew? I wouldn't do that ever - I could boo at the matches but what would that achieve ?

Just totally and utterly fucking fed up with the Blades at the moment.

You aren't the only one. That was as dull, boring and negative as it has been for years.

Some of your best work is when you're pissed. My favourite was when you were at the darts posting photos. You're not harming anyone and personally i find it amusing! :)

I am fed up too. I hate it in this division but the fact is that we are getting less income every season since we got relegation and our squad is nowhere as strong as it was 2011-12 (even there were a lot of moaning then!)

Yet we have only lost 2 out of our last 10 matches and one of those was to Man Utd.

Had we been on that kind of form at the start of the season we wouldn't be 8th, we would probably be in the top 2.

The glass half full rather than empty perspective..definitely the best outlook to have.

Early season form... Might it have been in part due to suffering some kind of 'play-off hangover' from last season? Its bloody horrible having the whole summer to stew on and reflect on defeats like that, it can affect the players and fans similarly and only half way through the next season you recover enough to shake the millstone off from round the neck and can sink your teeth into the current battles lying ahead.. I remember all too vividly Forest losing to Yeovil in the 2007/8 L1 play-off semis after surrendering a 2-0 advantage from the first leg and it was 'we're never going to get out of this godforsaken division thats doing its damndest to keep us dragged down', the following season the first 23 games was terrible and looked like floundering towards another season spent in there but then something kicked in and they got on a run with just 12 games left to pinch 2nd.

The Blades are in a better position now than what Forest were then so dont give up hope and just do whatever it takes to get back up..kicking and screaming if you have to! :)
 
Bad as it was, I didn't think yesterday was as bad as quite a number of other games at the Lane this season, Bury, Colchester and of course the nadir as far as I'm concerned, Shrewsbury, were far worse in my opinion. For me the annoying thing is that Swindon, like a lot of sides we've played this season are ok going forward and were quite tidy on the ball but put them under pressure and they panic. Yesterday I thought they started brighter but then we got going with Brayford and Coutts working particularly well together, we got the penalty, scored and I thought we could go on and win. We played ok for about another 15 minutes, if Billy's header had been on target....... then the team seemed to decide to sit back on the lead - never a good tactic for us and especially as defending goal leads is not our strong point. Why we can't just continue to play 'normally' I don't understand. By the time they scored, and after some baffling substitutions, we were basically playing with a flat back 8 and you just knew, we could all see it coming since half time and I think THAT more than anything has rightly pissed us all off..... again.

Actually, we've won 16 points from the last 10 which would be 43/44 points over 27 games. Just about top 6 which is the best we can hope for this year.

You're right.

And this from someone (me) who genuinely doesn't mind if they don't win, as long as it's exciting. That 15 minutes against Bradford was utterly thrilling and the second half as a whole was brilliant.

Though if we do play like that, we will win more than we lose.
 
I've finally accepted we are bastard useless so these disappointing results don't affect me. What I can't believe is how close we are to the play offs despite our utter uselessness.
