You'd probably prefer post war British pies VB as they were generally potato and cabbage ( okay, with lard) than the abbatoir scrapings on offer at BL these days. If you ate animal products that is.
Poor quality food is expensive at grounds. Expecting quality would cost you more than Tom Kitchins vegetarian tasting menu. Or the first three courses anyway.
My eldest - in his chip rating scale has Wembley at the very bottom with the worst tasting chips he's ever had anywhere ever - so automatic promotion please no play off / terrible chip shenanigansThe thought of a good potato and cabbage pie with mushy peas and several dashings of hendersons relish tickles the taste buds! Don't think they even serve that at the ground either!
But you're right, it's either put up and shut up or fine-dining extremism like the infamous £12 fish and chips at Wembley. A sensible middle ground is all we ask.
'SUFC Soul Food'...oh the joys of optimism.
Never had a pie at the sty,i suppose 'Pork' pies would make sense, probably made from ex players !!Watching United on the Sty Kop in the sixties, that's how they served them at the kiosk on the left facing the pitch.
Yeah the Balti pies of ten year ago were ok plenty of meat in them and they didn't taste bad either, there was an art to eating one though at that time there was no plastic forks so you had to be careful and eat it something like a dog licking it's bowl for remnants of PAL otherwise the bottom could drop out leaving you covered in curry.I used to enjoy the balti pies when they first started doing them at the Lane. Admittedly that was usually after one two many Stella's pregame but still.

The fact that you had the opportunity to give your pie blog one of these names and didn't makes me not trust you.
I mean, Pie-rate would be bloody gold for a a blog that rates frigging pies!

As a Football Business and Marketing Student at University, it is part of my course to create a blog surrounding the fan experience of the game.
My mission is to blog about pies at every Football Club in the UK, and would be grateful for feedback on the pies on offer at Sheffield United to use in future posts.

I have seldom seen a more succinct summing up of things I hate about modern football as that paragraph
