I always thought he looked decent for Bournemouth to be honest. Plus keep in mind Billing left Udders like 5 years or so ago and has probably matured a bit as a footballer.

He has now spent 6 out of his last 8 seasons playing Premier League football and has landed a moved to Napoli rather than slogging it out again in the Championship with someone like us.

Well past his best but signed by a team top of Serie A, he must have been a world beater at his best

Didn’t appreciate he was 29. I don’t see us committing to that sort of fee for a player who would have a significantly lower resale value. Would go against the grain of our owners current MO. Loan maybe but not a permanent move.

Arsenal are paying £67M for a lad 2 years younger. 29 is no longer worry age in players. Diet, fitness etc is so much better, players are playing much longer now so 8-10M for a player who would be in our top 3 players in our squad who could give us the support we need to get promoted

We won't be paying 8.5M for a 29 year old. That's the sort of money you pay for younger players with potential for profit.

I think he would he a good use of that last slot and I can't see us buying him without the 'get out of jail' card if we dont achieve promotion.

The only way we would commit to this player is a loan to buy, dependant on promotion.
The numbers just don't make sense given his likely wage demands, resale value and this year being our last receiving parachute payments.

Funny you mention that - I was about to ask on here, who would sell Gus to fund Billing + a decent right winger?

Oh I like him a lot as a player. It's just too much money for a 29 year old for a team with limited funds, 5 incomings needed and a week and a half to do it.
