Not many Blades will not know or have heard of Pete Whitney. He and Beryl have been supporters for as long as I can remember. He's been poorly for a while, but still a very sad loss.

Genuinely nice guy and with Beryl were more than just fans they gave their free time to supporters with humbleness and decency. My sympathies to Beryl and his family at this difficult time.

Known Pete and Beryl a long long time. Lovely couple, but I know Pete’s health has not been good for a while now. Thoughts are with Beryl and her family at this time.

I first met Peter and Beryl 20 years ago on United's summer tour of Trinidad and Tobago, and saw them at shareholders' meetings with McCabe over the years.

Nice couple and top bloke, so very saddened to hear the news of his passing. Deepest condolences to Beryl, family, and friends.
