Yes, being at boarding school between Aug 1973 and June 1979 made me miss some of Blades matches so I wouldn't be able to describe the goals we scored unless I saw them on tv.

I missed seeing us beat Arsenal 5-0 in Sept 1973 as I was in my second week at school (near Newbury) and it would have been nice if I saw TC sitting on the ball moment to erase the memory of seeing Alan Ball sitting on the ball in that 5-0 defeat in January 1972
Out of interest, which school "near Newbury"? Wondering if it's still here.

26th March 1987 was a Thursday so no fixtures.

We did however play two days later, a 2-2 draw at home to Bradford City if Silent Blade can shed some light on that? :)
Bradford had a decent team in those days and were going for promotion to Division One. I'm guessing Paul Tomlinson would have played in goal for them that day.

Good !

Now lets get rid of the other morons that seem to blight our away days !!

Agreed .

And let's start with the " alechuckers " .

I'll tell you summat anall ..... twats that put ketchup on their pies do mi fuckin head in ..... get rid of them animals anall .

And as for them that literally cover their hotdogs in mustard . Bastards :mad:

Don't even get me started on the idiots who go for a piss when we are still playing .........:mad::mad:

In fact , while I'm at it , I saw some absolute lunatic at the Lane against Brizzle who came dressed like a Paul Weller lookalike . Firstly kid , you look fuck all like him . Secondly , he's shit anyway . And lastly , just bloody well sod off , this is a togger match not a fucking student union get together .

I could go on but themll do for nah .

Don't condone but won't condemn - I wasn't there so I don't know the circumstances surrounding the incident. What I do know is the legal system is a joke and this bloke might have had to plead guilty as legal aid was denied him and he might not have been able to pay for his defence. What I am saying in a roundabout way is that not everyone found guilty has actually committed the crime for which they are charged.

I am shocked. I feel the same way I did when I found out that Milli Vanilli didn't really sing on their records.
Yep and Boney M's manager did their vocals, Rasputin never had the same feel after that news came out :( That ruined lots of away days.

Foley and Morris. 9,679 attendance. Clegg of City sent off. Not Nick.

Played at home vs Blackburn following week and stuffed them 4-1. Dempsey got 2, Kennedy and Foley the others. Kennedy after a long 50 yard run. Only 7,762 turned up.

I now know why there are so many shops in Sheffield selling anoraks and kittens.

I knew buying the 100 year Dennis Clareborough book would be useful!

That Andy Kennedy was a decent player I remember him banging a few good goals in.

Mary Hare near Snelsmore Common. Yes, it is still there
They do weddings at their other school at Greenham Common - Mrs Newbury Blade (who is in fact a Liverpool fan) and I got married there. Have met staff from both schools and they are lovely. Hardly "posh boarding schools" either, although we do have plenty of them round here.
